She didn't have the money, but she had the land. She didn't have the money, but she had the seed. She didn't have the money, but she had the time. She didn't have the money, but she had prayers that never ran out. And when Sunday came, she had baskets of food to share and the audacity to think that she herself could grow grace. And she did. [00:36:31] (28 seconds)  #LifeAsSacredInvestment

It's about the whole of our lives being lived in such a way that our very breath is an investment in the work that God has begun in Jesus Christ. Our very life, our getting up out of bed in the morning to the time we lay down and go to sleep, everything in between is meant to be given, shared in a world that is in desperate need of seeing God. And if we, the Church, are not showing people God, unconditional love, acceptance, encouragement, hope. If we, the Church, aren't doing that, I guarantee you not many other people are. It's our mandate. [00:41:33] (57 seconds)  #GraceCallsToCourage

He doesn't squander the talent that he's gotten through recklessness. He loses it because of his fear. He loses it because of his fear, he says, I was afraid, so I hid your valuable coin in the ground. Fear is the enemy of grace. It is the enemy of love. It is the enemy of God. Last week I talked a little bit about shame. This week it's fear. These two things, shame and fear, are things that evil tries to persuade us with. In this world. Fear tells us that we'll never be good enough, that we'll never have enough, that we should give up, follow the status quo because we're going to fail anyway, that we'll be judged when we fail. But that's fear. This story tells us that God expects us to use the gifts unrestrained from fear and shame. [00:43:30] (75 seconds)  #FaithOverScarcity

``Grace says you are enough because I am with you. Grace says, you are never alone. I am a part of you. Grace calls us to courage, to risk, to trust the one who first trusted us, to love the one who first loved us. [00:45:17] (27 seconds)  #StepOutInFaith

Rosa also teaches us about God's economy, the idea that people of faith should never live their lives with a view of what they don't have, a view of scarcity. Oh, I can't do that. I can't go there. I can't do that thing or be a part of that project because I don't have. See, God wants us to trust in his power and in his abundance, to share with us what we need when we need it. Not to build storehouses and fill them up to the top with things just in case one day we feel like we don't have enough. God expects us to take a step in faith. [00:46:44] (56 seconds)  #GiveWithGratitude

We give not out of obligation, but out of gratitude. We know what God has done for us in Jesus Christ. We know that God is with us every step of the way. We have seen miracles to. And we have seen what love can do in situations to bring death and lifenesses to life. And because of that, we give. That's why we give and then our service, using our time and talents to bless others, even if it's a weird talent. [00:53:06] (47 seconds)

In conclusion, let us hear the words of Jesus. Not as a warning to scare us or to make us afraid, but as an invitation to be something bigger and greater. God trusted you with it. Whatever the it is, your life, your story, your gifts, your talents, your voice, your passion. God trusted you with those things. Don't bear it, don't bury it. Don't let fear win. Let grace transform you. [00:58:29] (42 seconds)

Let us pray with boldness. Be present with purpose, give with joy, serve with love, witness with courage. All because God trusted us first and by grace we will be faithful and hear the words, well done. You are my good and faithful servant. [00:59:10] (36 seconds)

Remember that you are a light of the world. A city on top of a hill can't be hidden. Neither do people. Light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they put it on top of a lamp stand. And it shines on all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before people so they can see the good things you do. And praise your father, Father who is in heaven. [01:21:27] (27 seconds)

Now let us go forth into the world in God's peace, trusting that God is with us and equips us for the work and the ministry that God sends us to do, namely, to love our neighbor as we ourselves have been loved by God. And now may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, our Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us and keep us this day and forevermore. And all God's children said, amen.
