God’s eternal purpose is to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ, and this cosmic plan is not just for a select few but for every person and place we encounter in our daily lives. As you look at the circles of influence in your life—your family, workplace, friendships, and community—remember that God’s desire is to fill each of these with His fullness through you. Every name you write down, every place you inhabit, is meant to be drawn into the blessing and unity found in Jesus, and you are invited to participate in this grand story of redemption and restoration. [07:40]
Ephesians 1:10 (ESV)
“…as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.”
Reflection: Who are the people and places in your life that you sense God wants to draw into His unity and fullness through you? How can you intentionally pray for and bless them today?
In Christ, you are blessed with every spiritual blessing, chosen before the foundation of the world, redeemed through His blood, and adopted as a beloved child of God. This identity is not earned or exclusive, but a gift of grace that is meant for all, and it transforms how you see yourself and others. As you reflect on your life, let the truth of being holy and blameless in God’s sight, fully forgiven and set free, shape your confidence and your compassion for those around you. [16:32]
Ephesians 1:3-7 (ESV)
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace…”
Reflection: In what area of your life do you struggle to believe you are fully chosen, forgiven, and adopted by God? What would it look like to live from that truth today?
When you believed the gospel, you were marked with the promised Holy Spirit, who is God’s seal and guarantee of your inheritance and the fulfillment of His promises. The Spirit is not only a personal assurance but also empowers you to live out and share the hope of Jesus with others, inviting them into the same blessing and purpose. Every person you encounter is meant to experience the fullness of God’s love through your life, your prayers, and your words, as you carry the presence of Christ into your world. [18:31]
Ephesians 1:13-14 (ESV)
“In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.”
Reflection: Who in your life needs to experience the hope and presence of God through you? How can you be intentional today in sharing the love and truth of Jesus with them?
The greatest need for every follower of Jesus is to know God more deeply, and this comes through the Spirit of wisdom and revelation opening the eyes of your heart. As you grow in knowing Him, you discover the hope to which you are called, the riches of your inheritance among God’s people, and the incomparable power available to you. In a world filled with fear and uncertainty, you are called to be a person of hope, living from the reality of God’s presence and purpose, and seeing others as bearers of God’s inheritance alongside you. [23:29]
Ephesians 1:17-19 (ESV)
“…that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might…”
Reflection: What is one practical way you can seek to know God better this week—through prayer, Scripture, or community—and how might this deepen your hope and reshape your perspective?
You are called to be like yeast in the dough, carrying the presence and kingdom of God into every relationship, community, and situation you enter. This means living out the love, peace, and grace of Jesus, even toward those who oppose or misunderstand you, trusting in God’s power to bring transformation. As you pray for your circles of influence, ask God to make you an agent of His hope and unity, believing that even small acts of faithfulness can permeate and change the world around you. [30:39]
Matthew 13:33 (ESV)
“He told them another parable. ‘The kingdom of heaven is like leaven that a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, till it was all leavened.’”
Reflection: Where is God inviting you to be “yeast” this week—bringing His presence and hope into a specific relationship, group, or situation? What small step can you take today to be that influence?
Today’s reflection centers on the cosmic scope of God’s purpose and our place within it, as revealed in Ephesians 1. We began by mapping out the circles of our lives—our families, workplaces, friendships, and communities—naming the people we are connected to. This exercise grounds us in the reality that our journey with Jesus is not just for ourselves, but for the sake of these people and places. God’s purpose, from the beginning of creation, has been to unite all things in heaven and on earth under Christ, filling every place and person with his fullness. This is not an abstract idea, but a living reality that God is working out through us, his people.
We explored the profound truth that God is not simply a being within creation, but the very source of all existence. He is not sometimes near and sometimes far; rather, we are always in his presence, whether we feel it or not. This changes how we understand God’s power and presence—he is not just the most powerful being, but the source of all power, and his nearness is not dependent on our feelings or actions.
Ephesians 1 reveals that we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ, chosen before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless, adopted as God’s children, redeemed and forgiven through Jesus’ blood. These are not elitist privileges, but the destiny and invitation for every person—every name we wrote down. God’s plan is to fill all things with his fullness, and he does this through Christ as the head and us as his body. We are called to carry the “yeast” of the kingdom into every sphere of our lives, transforming our communities with God’s love, peace, and grace.
Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 1 is that we would receive the Spirit of wisdom and revelation to know God better, that the eyes of our hearts would be enlightened to the hope we have, the riches of our inheritance together, and the incomparably great power available to us. This hope is not just for the future, but for now, in a world dominated by fear and division. We are called to be people of hope, to love even our enemies, and to trust in the resurrection power of God that works through humble, surrendered lives. As we pray for those in our circles, we join God’s mission to unite all things in Christ, trusting that his power is at work in us and through us.
Ephesians 1:3–23 (ESV) —
> 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, 8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight 9 making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ 10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
>
> 11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. 13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.
>
> 15 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, 16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might 20 that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. 22 And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
