You don't have to be a person of significance in order to give the Lord the direction of your life. Like in some ways, we think that people who are doing great things for the Lord, people who are being used by God, they're like super spiritual. They're people of significance. She's 14. From a nobody family in a nobody town. Like she's not a person of significance. [00:10:04] (27 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

What does that tell us? That you don't have to be someone of significance for God to do great things in your life. Like, all you have to do is be willing to say, God, the direction of my life, where it's headed, and where I'm going, and what I'm going to do, I'll lay down my plans for your plans. And God's plans might be as incredible, as significant as that, might be greater. Whatever it will be, I'll tell you this, it'll be better than your plans. You surrendering the direction of your life to god is a now not later moment like it is and i'm not talking to 20 year olds and teenagers it's a now not later moment mark twain tells a story about a pretty wealthy significant businessman in boston and the businessman is talking to mark twain he says one day my goal i'm going to go to israel and i'm going to climb the top of mount sinai that's where moses was given the 10 commandments in the old testament from god he said i'm going to climb to the top of mount sinai and the top of mount sinai i'm going to read the 10 commandments in the place that they were given and mark twain looked at the man and said, instead of that, how about you just live them here in Boston? Mary responded. Here it is talking about the direction of your life. I am the Lord's servant. May everything you've said about me come true. And then the angel left her. 14 years old. I am the Lord's servant. May everything you say come true. What the 14 year old girl said is the direction of my life is yours. Now let's just real talk for a second. Over the course of our lives, God has called us to certain things. [00:17:49] (34 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

The direction of your life, surrendering it to Jesus, we look at that as like Christianity 401, like it's senior level class. Friends, it is not. Follow me was the first thing. It was Christianity 101. Like our base standard operating procedure means the direction of my life is wherever God's called me to be. So we're not talking about, hey, how do I get to this? What we're talking about is if you've surrendered your life to Jesus already, you've already said that's what you're doing. The direction of my life is yours. Mary had a lot of things to hold her back and her culture, what she is just signed up for, could have led to being divorced by her husband. Could have led to her being taken to the city gates. stripped naked hair dropped down to signify that she's a prostitute to be mocked by her entire community and stoned meaning executed that's what mary signed up for when she said i'm the servant a servant of the lord she had a lot of things that could have held her back what's yours figure that out because that's what's keeping you from experiencing all that god's called you to experience.
