God, through Jesus Christ, has blessed you with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, far beyond what you could ever earn or deserve. These blessings are not just material or visible, but are rooted in grace and mercy—gifts that cannot be bought, earned, or repaid. The true measure of being blessed is not in possessions or status, but in the unmerited favor and spiritual riches that come from a relationship with Christ. When you reflect on your life, remember that the greatest blessings are those that come from God’s hand, given freely through the blood of Jesus and the abundance of His grace. Let your heart overflow with gratitude, knowing that you are prospered in perpetuity by the One who loves you beyond measure. [01:44:52]
Ephesians 1:3 (NRSV)
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places."
Reflection: What is one spiritual blessing in your life that you have overlooked or taken for granted? How can you intentionally thank God for it today?
Before the foundation of the world, God chose you in Christ, not because of your perfection, but in full knowledge of your flaws, failures, and shortcomings. He factored in every mistake and still destined you for a holy and blameless life, covered by the blood of Jesus. God’s plans for you are greater than your own, and His purpose for your life is secure, even when you fall short. You are not an accident or an afterthought; you are chosen, loved, and called according to His purpose, and nothing can separate you from that calling. Let this truth anchor your identity and give you confidence as you walk in the purpose God has set before you. [01:53:57]
Ephesians 1:4-5 (NRSV)
"Just as he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before him in love. He destined us for adoption as his children through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of his will."
Reflection: In what area of your life do you need to trust that God’s purpose is greater than your past mistakes? How can you surrender that area to Him today?
Through Jesus Christ, you have been adopted into God’s family, given a new name, and granted all the rights and privileges of a beloved child. In the culture of Ephesus, adoption meant debts were canceled and a new identity was received—an irrevocable status that could never be undone. Likewise, God has canceled your debts, given you His name, and made you a joint heir with Christ. No matter your background, failures, or what others say about you, your place in God’s family is secure and unshakeable. Rejoice in the assurance that you are God’s child, fully accepted and forever loved. [01:58:20]
Romans 8:15-17 (ESV)
"For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, 'Abba! Father!' The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him."
Reflection: How does knowing you are irrevocably adopted by God change the way you see yourself and your worth today?
The more you grow in your awareness of who God is and deepen your appreciation for Him, the more you experience the abundance He has already prepared for you. Don’t settle for a meager spiritual life when God has set a table of abundance before you. As you give more of your heart, mind, and obedience to God, you unlock more of what He has in store. God’s abundance is not just about having enough, but about living in the overflow of His presence, purpose, and provision. Choose today to seek Him more deeply and to respond with greater devotion, knowing that He has so much more for you than you can imagine. [01:28:55]
John 10:10 (ESV)
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."
Reflection: What is one area where you have been “settling for cheese and crackers” spiritually? What step can you take today to seek more of God’s abundance?
When you truly understand all that God has done for you—His blessings, His purpose, His adoption, and His abundance—the only fitting response is heartfelt praise. You can never repay God for His grace, mercy, and provision, but you can lift your hands, open your mouth, and offer Him the gratitude and worship He deserves. Let your life be a living testimony to His goodness, and let your praise be a continual offering for all He has done. As you reflect on God’s faithfulness, let your heart overflow with thanksgiving and let your praise point others to the glory of God. [02:06:29]
Psalm 103:1-5 (ESV)
"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s."
Reflection: As you look back over your life, what specific act of God’s grace moves you to praise Him today? How will you express that praise?
In the midst of a world filled with uncertainty, loss, and change, it is easy to become weary, fearful, or to feel as though life is out of control. Yet, the assurance remains: God is in control, and because of that, things will get better. Even as we face storms—both literal and figurative—we are reminded to find our praise, to hold onto faith, and to remember that God’s power and presence are constant. The call is to worship, to intercede for one another, and to trust that God hears, heals, and provides for His people.
As we gather, we are not just celebrating another Sunday, but the ongoing goodness and faithfulness of God. After all we have been through, we are still here—alive, kept by the Lord, and invited to praise Him for His sustaining grace. In times of personal and communal challenge, we are called to prayer, not as a last resort, but as a means of anchoring our hearts in the truth that God is able and will not fail. We intercede for the sick, the bereaved, the vulnerable, and those affected by injustice, knowing that God is a very present help in trouble and that His justice and mercy will ultimately prevail.
Turning to Ephesians 1:1-6, we are reminded that God has so much more for us than we often realize. Many of us live as though our relationship with God is limited to the bare necessities—like a passenger on a cruise ship eating only cheese and crackers, unaware that a feast has already been provided. In Christ, we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing, chosen before the foundation of the world, and adopted as God’s children. These blessings are not earned or deserved; they are gifts of grace, secured by the blood of Jesus.
God’s purpose for our lives is greater than anything we could plan for ourselves. He has factored in our failures and shortcomings, covering us with the blood of Christ so that His purpose prevails even when we fall short. Our adoption into God’s family is irrevocable; we are given a new name, our debts are canceled, and we are granted all the rights and privileges of children of God. All of this is so that we might live lives of praise, gratitude, and purpose, never settling for less than the abundance God has prepared for us. As we come to the Lord’s table, we remember the sacrifice that made all of this possible and are sent out to live as lights in a dark world, confident that God has so much more for us.
Ephesians 1:1-6 (ESV) — Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints who are in Ephesus, and are faithful in Christ Jesus:
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,
even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love
he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,
to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.
``You will get more out of your relationship with Jesus Christ when Jesus gets more out of you it's out like that when he gets more from your mind when he gets more from your heart when he gets more from your obedience more from your soul more surrender more devotion more oh worship, more consistency, more of you unlocks more of what God has already prepared. So my word to you this morning is don't settle for a snack on the deck when God has abundance reserved for you with your name on it. [01:28:42] (54 seconds) #MoreThanASnack
He's not just Jehovah Jireh. I know we shout over that. He's Jehovah Jireh. He's the God who provides. He will do that. He's not just Jehovah Jireh, but he's also Jehovah Shammah. Y 'all know what Jehovah Shammah means. That means he's not just the God of enough. He's the God of more. I wish I had some help in here. He's the God of more than enough. God, if you continue to increase in your knowledge of him and intensify your appreciation for who he is, he has more for your life than you ever could have imagined. A lot of us are always looking for God to do something in our lives that he's never done before. But maybe today, Deacon Allen, and maybe even for the rest of the month, some of us may need to go back and review and revisit some of God's blessings that we've overlooked. And what we're learning is sometimes God doesn't need to give you more. He just needs you to see how much he's already given you. [01:34:46] (41 seconds) #RecognizeYourBlessings
The plans God has made for your life are so much better than your plans. Can I tell you why? Because when God made plans for your life, he did something you didn't do when you made your plans. When God made plans for your life, he factored in your failures. He factored in your flaws. He factored in your faults. [01:49:38] (37 seconds) #GodsPlansFactorFlaws
Before God ever said, let there be light. He took care of your sinful past in eternity so that you can be saved in the present and then secured in your future. [01:50:32] (23 seconds) #CoveredByTheBlood
God has so much more than just you being saved. Now, I don't want you to get it confused. Being saved is enough. That's some good cheese and crackers. It gets the job done. But God says, I have so much more for your life. I've done so much more for your life than just giving you the free gift of my salvation. I want you to be saved, but I, Jesus says, I have come. Not just that you will have life. I'm going to give you life. He says, in me there is life. He says, I'll give you life, but I just don't want you to have life. He says, I've come that you might have life more abundantly. [02:06:44] (78 seconds) #LifeMoreAbundant
