We then delved into the story from Acts 6, where the early church faced a challenge of overlooked widows in the daily distribution of food. This situation led to the appointment of seven men full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom to manage the task, allowing the apostles to focus on prayer and the ministry of the word. [01:00:01]

The story of Stephen, one of the seven, illustrates that no job is secular when done in the service of God. While waiting on tables, Stephen performed great wonders and signs, showing that every role can be a ministry. This challenges the notion of secular work, reminding us that all work is sacred when done for God's glory. [01:21:07]

Opposition arose against Stephen, yet his face shone like an angel's, a testament to his deep connection with God. We concluded with a call to embrace the challenges and opposition we face as opportunities for growth and transformation. These trials are not just obstacles but are often the means through which God shapes us to be more like Jesus. [01:37:28]

Generosity is a powerful act of faith that aligns our resources with God's purposes. When we give, we open ourselves to receive God's blessings in unexpected ways, reinforcing the cycle of giving and receiving. [00:54:10]

The story of the early church in Acts 6 teaches us the importance of recognizing and fulfilling our unique roles. Leadership involves empowering others and focusing on what only we can do, ensuring that the body of Christ functions effectively. [01:09:16]

Stephen's example shows that no job is secular when done for God's glory. Every role, no matter how mundane it seems, can be a ministry when approached with a heart full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom. [01:21:07]

Opposition and challenges are part of the Christian journey. They are not just obstacles but opportunities for growth, shaping us to be more like Jesus. Embracing these trials with joy can lead to spiritual maturity. [01:30:11]

Our connection with God is reflected in our countenance. Like Stephen, when we spend time with God, His glory shines through us, impacting those around us and transforming every situation we encounter. [01:37:28]

We are encouraged to see every situation as a chance to bring God's miraculous power into the world. [01:37:28]

The Bible makes it clear: give and it will be given back to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over. So, I'm not surprised you have yet another miracle of financial coincidence. [00:56:29]

The apostles recognized that if you're going to wait on tables, you need authority and responsibility. You need wisdom and the power of the Spirit. [01:17:17]

The laying of hands on is to confer authority and to transfer power. That's something we did two weeks ago, I think, for Anette. She was commissioned; there was a transfer of authority. [01:17:17]
