Jesus said what did Moses command you and they said Moses allowed for the writing of a bill of divorcement and to put her away and jesus answered and said unto them it was because of the hardness of your heart that he wrote to you this precept but from the beginning of creation God made them male and female and for this cause a man shall leave his father and mother cleave to his wife and the two will become one flesh so then they are no more two but one what therefore God has joined together let not man put asunder. Jesus said unto them why do you call me good there's none good but one and that is God what is Jesus saying he is saying I am no good or he is saying I am God why do you call me good there's only one that is good and that is God Jesus is saying you've recognized a truth you've recognized something when you called me good you've recognized something that I God and the question what can I do to inherit eternal life. Jesus said to him one thing you lack go your way sell whatever you have give the money to the poor you will have treasure in heaven come take up the cross and follow me there are those today that say well go sell everything you have give the money to my ministry but not Jesus give the money to the poor come and follow me what he lacked was following Jesus that's the key to eternal life his money his wealth was keeping him from following Jesus his money was his God. Jesus said with men it is impossible but not with God for with God all things are possible do you know that you who are saved tonight are a miracle not possible with man there's no way that you could save yourself there's no action that you could take that would save you your salvation is a miracle and when they said Lord who can be saved they recognize that salvation isn't something that we can produce ourselves we can't save ourselves no action or activity on our part no amount of money can redeem us from our sin who then can be saved well it's an impossibility except with God all things are possible.
