"What if we never die and I'm going to start with scriptures which affirm that fact but I want to spend most of my time today talking about an appropriate kind of life for people who are never going to cease existing remember Mickey Mantle in the last stages of his journey one of the things that he said after he had had the transplant was if I'd known I was going to live so long I would have taken better care of myself." [00:00:48]

"Now I don't know where he's gonna live forever and actually this morning I'm not going to worry about one side of this eternity because I know where most of you are headed and I want to talk to you about living forever as a child of God but now this is not something that everyone among Christians is really comfortable with and and so I'm going to deal with some questions that trouble people who are Christians." [00:01:05]

"Now we know that just the literal fear of dying does control many people and it is the instrument by which the world controls people isn't it for example there's not a single government on the face of the earth that does not have power to kill to kill its own citizens and the power of human government rests on the power of death that's a sobering thought." [00:05:38]

"Speaking with you this morning some months ago I was in Hawaii leading a conference and there was a minister there who was coming toward the end of his ministry as we say and he was a disappointed man he was a very capable man and just talking with him I could tell what a blessing he was to his people he was the pastor of a church there and he just had such riches in him to give his long experience with study and and the people of God and watching God work in his people had given him great riches but he was a disappointed and he was too good a Christian to be a bitter man you know what I mean he knew that was not right but he was deeply disappointed." [00:07:03]

"Christians do not believe in reincarnation they do not believe the soul is eternal backwards but they believe that the soul of every individual is appointed by God and called to it into existence by God and intended by God before if you wish the Big Bang right so before the Big Bang you were in God's mind and from all eternity he knew when he was going to bring you in there are no unwanted children in God's universe they all wanted God has a plan for every one of them." [00:10:05]

"Jesus abolished death he abolished it but what happens when something is abolished it is no more and for the person who trusts the word and the person of Jesus they are never going to die now there's some problems with the language and you see this in John 11 because in one sense of the word obviously we're going to die and it's very interesting to see how Jesus himself struggles with this difficulty in John 11." [00:14:45]

"Now you see what he's saying there is the thing which people dread as death will never happen to them if they believe in him the thing which people dread as death why do they dread as death they dread separation they dread extinction they dread life ending because life is precious they dread that because they know others love them and they know they love others and what Jesus is saying here is that will never happen that will never happen." [00:18:48]

"Now how do we know we won't stop existing because of the reality of Jesus and his kingdom Jesus is a real historical fact and he's a real present fact the reality of Jesus and his kingdom and because of the authority of Jesus you know you have to make up your mind about Jesus who is the person who has the best information about the most important things in all the world who is it." [00:30:27]

"Since this is true what should we do the most important thing we do is cultivate the vision purposely cultivate the vision you hear people to heavenly minded to be of any earthly good excuse me I haven't met any of those you want to see people who are earthly good find a heavenly minded person we've had so much with Mother Teresa and all this coming before us that the media people who are trying to talk about it just obviously don't understand." [00:33:50]

"Talk about it much we can talk about everything in the world let's talk about this talk about it with friends at the office or at work but above all talk about it with those that are dearest to you let them understand what is going to happen express appreciation of Jesus as one who really does know about this he's not just a dreamer he's not just someone carried away by fantasy he lives with it in reality." [00:36:10]

"Develop life in God's kingdom day by day in other words we need to be now practicing the life which will be fulfilled in the future so we need to be counting on the kingdom day-by-day Paul's word so to the Spirit they that sow to the spirit shall reap what didn't want to remember that passage Galatians 6 they that sow to the spirit shall reap everlasting life right you're moving Paul in Romans in Romans 8:6 the mind of the flesh is death but the spirit is life and peace so that's what we practice now." [00:40:37]

"Now finally plan on this plan on this what do you expect to be doing 400 years from now have you thought about that put some thought into it what do you expect to be doing 400 years from now as a lovely poem I mean God actually intends to call us into the creative reality of his world that's what the verse means in Matthew 25 where it says enter into the joy of your Lord."
