Embracing Doubt: Finding Strength in God's Sovereignty

Devotional

Sermon Summary

Sermon Clips

"One of the great promises of Scripture is that all things work together for good to them that love God and are called according to His purpose. That's often misunderstood when circumstances are negative that cause us to question God. We often read it, 'And all things are good,' but he doesn't say that. He says, 'God is stitching things together for good.' One of the most important truths about God, when you are questioning Him and what He's allowing in your life, is His sovereignty, that God is in control of the things that cause you to raise the question." [00:00:00]

"So when you are faced with doubt, use it as an opportunity to get closer to God, not run from Him, knowing that He is stitching together the negative and non-preferable circumstances in your life that creates question marks to do something greater in you, for you, with you, and through you." [00:00:36]

"When you call on God to address your doubt, when you take an action step based on the Word of God that's similar to your circumstance, then you're combining the Word and action and giving the Holy Spirit the tools that He needs to enter into your circumstances, giving you confidence again—renewed confidence in the Living God who's working on your behalf in spite of your doubts." [00:01:02]

"So use doubt as an opportunity to see God show you how big He really is." [00:01:31]
