Embracing Divine Love: The Journey to the Cross

Summary

In today's gathering, we celebrated the miraculous journey of a family who experienced God's intervention in their lives, highlighting the power of prayer and divine timing. We dedicated a young girl, Haley Jane, to the Lord, declaring her future as a freedom fighter for righteousness and God's kingdom. This dedication was a reminder of the generational blessings and the importance of setting apart our lives for God's purposes.

As we enter Holy Week, we reflect on the significance of Palm Sunday, marking the beginning of Passion Week. This week encapsulates both the intense love and the suffering of Jesus Christ. The story of Jesus entering Jerusalem on a donkey, as prophesied, symbolizes His role as the King of Kings, not just for the Jews but for the entire world. The crowds shouted "Hosanna," a plea for salvation, recognizing Jesus as their Savior, though their understanding was limited to a political deliverance rather than the spiritual salvation He offered.

The narrative of Jesus' journey to the cross is a profound testament to His love and sacrifice. Despite the betrayal, rejection, and suffering He faced, Jesus remained steadfast in His mission to bring salvation to humanity. His humility and obedience, even unto death, exemplify the ultimate act of love. This week, we are reminded to prepare the way for the Lord in our lives through worship and prayer, inviting His presence into our hearts, families, and communities.

As we worship, we usher in the King of Kings, aligning our lives with His will. Worship is not just an act of praise but a total surrender to God's purposes. In our struggles and storms, we are encouraged to praise God, knowing that He is enthroned on our praises and that His presence brings transformation and peace.

This event challenges believers to recognize Jesus as the King of Kings, not just in a worldly sense but as the Savior of their souls. It invites a deeper understanding of His role and a commitment to follow Him wholeheartedly. [01:12:10]

Quotes

So today we dedicate you to the Lord in that sense. We set you apart for this role, both of you, in the powerful name of Jesus. Father, we thank you for the generational blessing that is on both of them. Father, we thank you for the decisions that parents and their grandparents made to follow you. And Father, thank you that will keep going. There's an anointing, and that will keep going also into the other young adults, Lord Jesus. There's power anointing in their lives. Father, thank you that you give them everything that they need to fulfill this mission in the name of Jesus. [01:02:57] (28 seconds) Edit Clip

It's the start today of Holy Week. Today is the start of Passion Week, Passion Week, which culminates, of course, at the end on Friday with the crucifixion of Jesus. And then the resurrection on Sunday, Easter Sunday, which is going to be an amazing celebration. Some of the guys who are actually ministering in the band at Easter Camp. We've got so many of our band people now in the band there. It used to be like nobody, and now we've got so many of them. But they're all coming back for the morning because we're going to really celebrate. [01:12:32] (28 seconds) Edit Clip

The word passion is really beautiful. The word passion has really two meanings. One is like intense love, intense emotion, strong emotion. But also in the word from the Greek, pasio, pasio, it actually means suffering. It actually means to endure suffering. So in this Passion Week, we can see both that Jesus represents and God represents because we see the love of God giving Jesus. But then we see Jesus who has to suffer and die and, of course, then rise again. [01:13:12] (33 seconds) Edit Clip

So here Jesus is riding on his donkey towards Jerusalem. He is riding towards his destiny. This is the culmination of his ministry, of his mission. This is what he was born for. And on his shoulders, he carries the salvation of the world. He is the Lamb of God, slain before the foundation of the world, who will take away the sin of the world. And the crowds of disciples are shouting, Hosanna! Hosanna! [01:16:10] (32 seconds) Edit Clip

Hosanna! Now, we sing songs with Hosanna, right? Hosanna, Hosanna. You know, we think it's a praise thing. And it is like, it is praise, but literally, Hosanna means, please save us. That's what it means. So every time you sing Hosanna, you're already saved. So somewhere it's a bit weird. But anyway, it's a praise thing too. It's a praise thing. Hosanna, please come and save us. Because they thought that Jesus was the Savior for the Jews, you know, with the Romans, you know, getting in their way. [01:16:41] (29 seconds) Edit Clip

And when we start praising and worshiping, he comes into our lives, into our families, into our businesses, into our city, into our nation, into our future. And we make room for God. See, God is enthroned on the praises of his people. His kingship, his throneship is on the praises of his people, on worship, on prayer. And that's why it is so important to worship. [01:22:37] (26 seconds) Edit Clip

Something happens when we pray, when we worship, when we declare, when we get together as a family, and when we start filling the airwaves of Christ's church with the praises of God. When the praise goes up, the rain comes down. And not the rain of the natural. We don't want any rain. By the way, can we just pray for a moment? Father, we thank you that the rain is not going to be there. It's come before or after. Lord, we pray that you would cover in Jesus' name. [01:24:04] (27 seconds) Edit Clip

It's sobering how fickle people can be. And we've all had this in our lives. People who really have supported us. Stupored us. Suddenly they can betray us. What's going on here? Suddenly they walk away out of your life. It's so hard. Jesus was right in the middle of it. In Luke's account. In the story of Jesus. He's actually weeping. Luke 19. As He approached Jerusalem. He saw the city. He wept over it. [01:27:05] (29 seconds) Edit Clip

And He said if you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace. Come on. But now it is hidden from your eyes. And it's still hidden from your eyes. Now in the big picture of God, it was of course in His plan. Romans 9, 10, and 11 talks about the Jewish people. How God has blinded their eyes so that salvation could go to the Gentiles. To you and me. It's on them. [01:28:13] (31 seconds) Edit Clip

He laid down his life. He endured all this stuff that was projected ahead of him. Face on, head on, all this rejection and pain and abuse for you and for me. Man that makes me love him more. Man that makes me adore him more. Man that makes me want to worship him more. And I respond, Lord, I lay my life down for you even afresh today. Because you are so worthy of my life. [01:38:57] (35 seconds) Edit Clip

Why was there joy in his heart? Because he knew that his sacrifice and this moment of history that he was born for. He knew that because of that, billions of people would come into the kingdom of God. Billions of people became sons and daughters of God. And now he would gain a bride. His bride is going to marry us. That's how much he loves us. [01:39:51] (24 seconds) Edit Clip
