Embracing Divine Encounters: Faith and Purpose

Summary

Good morning, family. Today, we gathered in the presence of God, where our hearts were open to His Spirit, and we were reminded of the power of divine encounters. Reflecting on the story of Mary in Luke 1, we see a young woman faced with an unexpected and life-altering message from God. Her response, "I am the Lord's servant. May your word to me be fulfilled," exemplifies a profound faith and willingness to embrace God's plan, even when it defies human understanding. This narrative invites us to consider our own encounters with God and how we respond to His call.

In our lives, like Mary, we may face moments of uncertainty and fear when God calls us to step out of our comfort zones. Yet, it is in these moments that God reveals His purpose for us. Our identity and purpose are not defined by our circumstances but by God's word, which never fails. We are reminded that His timing is perfect, and His promises are sure, even when they seem delayed or unexpected.

At Royal Home Ministries, we witness the transformative power of God's word in the lives of young women facing crisis pregnancies. These women, often questioning their worth and purpose, find hope and restoration through the love of Jesus. Our mission is to empower them with foundational truths and values, helping them to rebuild their lives and embrace the identity God has given them.

As a church, we are called to action, to stand in the gap for those who are lost and broken. We must respond to God's call with courage and obedience, trusting that He will provide the resources and strength we need. Our response should be one of faith, declaring, "Here I am, Lord. Use me." Let us be a community that supports life at every stage, from conception to old age, and let us be vessels of God's truth and love in a world that desperately needs it.

Day 1: Embracing Divine Purpose
In the story of Mary in Luke 1, we witness a profound moment where a young woman is confronted with a divine message that alters the course of her life. Her response, "I am the Lord's servant. May your word to me be fulfilled," is a testament to her unwavering faith and willingness to embrace God's plan, even when it defies human understanding. This narrative invites us to reflect on our own encounters with God and how we respond to His call. Like Mary, we may face moments of uncertainty and fear when God calls us to step out of our comfort zones. Yet, it is in these moments that God reveals His purpose for us, reminding us that our identity is rooted in His unchanging word. [58:35]

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11, ESV)

Reflection: What is one area in your life where you feel God is calling you to step out in faith? How can you embrace this call with the same willingness as Mary?

Day 2: Trusting in God's Unfailing Word
The assurance that "no word from God will ever fail" is a cornerstone of our faith. Regardless of our circumstances, God's promises are steadfast, and His timing is perfect. We are called to trust in His plan, even when it defies our expectations. This trust is not passive but requires active faith, believing that God's word is true and will come to pass. In moments of doubt or delay, we are reminded that God's timing is not our own, but it is always perfect. [01:02:23]

"So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:11, ESV)

Reflection: Think of a promise from God that you are waiting to see fulfilled. How can you actively trust in His timing and remain steadfast in your faith today?

Day 3: Stepping Out in Faith
God often calls us to step out of our comfort zones and into a walk of faith. This requires reliance on Him to provide the resources and strength needed to fulfill His purpose. Our obedience brings glory to God and allows us to witness His power in our lives. When we step out in faith, we are not alone; God is with us, guiding and empowering us every step of the way. This journey of faith is an opportunity to grow closer to God and to see His hand at work in our lives. [01:03:35]

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9, ESV)

Reflection: Identify a specific area where you feel God is asking you to step out in faith. What practical steps can you take today to move forward in obedience and trust?

Day 4: The Power of Obedience
Our response to God's call is crucial. Inaction is a choice, and delayed obedience can hinder the blessings God has for us. We are encouraged to respond with a willing heart, declaring, "I am the Lord's servant," and allowing His will to be fulfilled in our lives. Obedience is not always easy, but it is essential for experiencing the fullness of God's blessings and purpose. When we choose to obey, we align ourselves with God's will and open the door for His power to be manifested in our lives. [01:05:15]

"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." (James 1:22, ESV)

Reflection: Reflect on a recent situation where you felt prompted to act but hesitated. How can you choose obedience today and trust God with the outcome?

Day 5: A Call to Stand in the Gap
As a church, we are called to stand in the gap for those in need, advocating for life and truth. Our actions should reflect our convictions, and we must be willing to support and empower those who are vulnerable, trusting that God will use us to bring about transformation. This call to action is an invitation to be vessels of God's truth and love in a world that desperately needs it. By standing in the gap, we become instruments of God's grace and agents of change in our communities. [01:16:43]

"Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?" (Isaiah 58:6, ESV)

Reflection: Consider a specific way you can stand in the gap for someone in need this week. How can you be a vessel of God's love and truth in their life?

Quotes

"I think of the encounters that each of us has the opportunity to have with God. And a lot of times our response in those encounters can be fear, can be doubt, can be questioning, can be Lord, is this, why is this happening? Is this really you? And in that same moment, I look at Mary, a teenager's response to the Lord. And she asks her questions. How is this possible? Lord that you would choose to do this through me and the Lord answers how he will do it you see when we encounter the holy real presence of God there is a clear directive of what he wants us to do with our lives and because of there is a clear direct directive he brings forth a very clear purpose that we should follow you see when we encounter God like pastor shared last week there is he deposits in us identity and purpose and I do believe that to be true but I do believe that the Holy Spirit meets us where we are and he is willing to answer the questions that we have so what are the questions that you have before the Lord this morning I think about the girls that we serve at Royal Home girls that question their value that question their worth girls that question Lord why have you allowed these things to happen to you and I think about the girls that have been and I think back to job a man who was righteous before the eyes of the Lord and all of the things that he went and his goodness had no bearing on the fact that he was going to go through some stuff your goodness or your sin isn't the reason that you go through bad stuff or good stuff your purpose is not found in how good or how difficult your life is maybe you see when we look at this scripture I see a truth that rings out that gives me faith it gives me hope and it helps me to stand firm on God regardless of what I'm going through for no word from God will ever fail no word from God will ever fail nothing that he has ever spoken over you over your family over this church over this city will come back void but it will do what he has sent it to do God will do what he has said that he will do it may not come in your time it may not come when you expect it it's probably gonna come when you least expect it because his timing is perfect and last time I checked none of us was the creator and orchestrator of the heavens and the earth so we don't know what the heavens and the earth are going to have to say to when the best moment is, but I do know one thing that no word from God will ever fail." [00:59:10]

"How are you going to use me in this capacity when I've never had the experience of doing this, when I don't know what to say, when I don't know exactly how to talk to other people, when I don't feel comfortable? And the reality is that God is calling us out of our comfort zone and into a walk of faith, a faith that fully, fully relies on him to be a God that provides everything that we need. That means that he's going to provide the resources. He's going to provide the word. He's going to provide and open the door so that he makes the way. You see, a lot of times we want to make a way. We want to rely on our circumstances, on our strengths, on the things that we are comfortable with, because guess what, then? We get the glory. But God is the one that deserves the glory. He is the one that's demanding the glory because he is the one that creates the glory. He is the one that creates the glory. He is the one that created it and orchestrated it all. So then when we begin to do things outside of our comfort zone, we begin to see the glory of God." [01:03:46] (61 seconds)

"There's always a response that comes from us. And it's one or the other. There's no gray area. Either we will do what God has asked us to do or we don't. Inaction is a choice. Not doing something about it when you clearly hear the voice of God over your life, is a choice. How many opportunities has God given us to do something on his behalf as individuals? Think about, don't look at your neighbor. Think about you right now. Look within you right now and think about all of those moments where God demanded something supernatural and beyond your comfort zone throughout your life. And think about your response to him." [01:05:15] (51 seconds)

"I look back at so many moments that I regret not acting on what God told me to do. I knew it was his will. I knew it was his will for my life. And I think about how that delayed, how that delayed the blessings of God over me and my family, over my community, over my church, because of my disobedience to the Lord. You see, this year, as we're having these encounters with the Lord, we cannot just be satisfied with seeing him and meeting him eye to eye. We need to move past that into a response that pleases the Lord. And the response that pleases the Lord is, I am the Lord's servant." [01:06:06] (54 seconds)

"And so my prayer for you, church, is that as you encounter God, as we encounter the giver of life, that we would hear his voice, that we would see him face to face, and that we would respond with, here I am, Lord. Use me. I had the opportunity to respond to the Lord in 2013. I've shared this story with you before. My family and I, I was facing a health crisis dealing with lupus. My kidneys were failing. I was on about 32 different medications every day, taking 32 different medications on dialysis, having blood transfusions about once a week, having a chemotherapy infusion done about once a month. And all of these things were happening at once in our lives." [01:08:09] (54 seconds)

"Honestly, I thought it was the only way to get to my family. But I was thinking that the reason that that move happened was for health. get better health. We had access to Duke Health here in North Carolina. And in my mind, in my big picture, that I realized is kind of tiny and significant, my big picture meant moving close to family that was here in the state and getting better health care. Fast forward to 2025, God moved us here, connected me with a local conference, North Carolina Conference, eventually transitioned into this role of director of Royal Home Ministries, and I'm now serving young women that are facing crisis pregnancies and able to mentor and minister to them." [01:10:00] (45 seconds)

"And we went to Northwood Temple to the English service, and I said, babe, I think we're closer to where God wants us to be. And the moment I stepped in through the Hispanic church doors, I literally began weeping like Magdalena, like just like crying and crying. I couldn't stop. And I said, babe, we found our home. And he said, okay, I think so too. And we've been there ever since. But it takes an open ear to really be relying on God's direction to end up where he wants you to be. Now I can be, I'm going to be honest with you. I've been there before. I've been there before. I've been there before. I've been Throughout that process, there were moments that I kind of pressed the pause button because I was like very, very satisfied and comfortable with where I was." [01:11:24] (46 seconds)

"You tell me if we can't. We can't delay God's purposes for our lives. And our respon
