The first reason is because you were created for fellowship with God. Remember in the garden, that's when God created man and woman, they were with him. Like that was his original intent. Because of Christ, we are now able to be with him again. And so it only makes sense. We get the privilege of spending time with God. That was his original heart's desire. So why wouldn't we have time with God? [00:00:28] (25 seconds)  #CreatedForFellowship

Every great woman or man of god that we know of from the past they had regular time with god in his word and in prayer and we can read about this like this isn't hidden if we you just read their works it becomes obvious okay you got great folks like John Owen, like the Reformers, like Martin Luther, like John Calvin, all the different ones that you would name, Billy Graham, Hudson Taylor, all the ones that we'd be like, hey man, they had a big impact on history. Their writings declare that they spent a lot of time with God. Now, no one's asking you to be them, but again, they're a great model. [00:02:28] (33 seconds)  #LegacyOfPrayer

Some of you learn early on when you don't spend time with God. This is one of the lessons that you'll learn. If you don't spend time with God, he's just going to allow the day to not go quite as well. And that's not because he's trying to be mean. It's because he's trying to train us. Everything just goes better with me, man. Even when you spend 10 minutes with me, it's still a better day than if you're just like, ah, get to it later. And it's supposed to teach us over time. Like, what is the use? I'm just going to have time with God. So I don't feel like I wasted a day. [00:03:58] (26 seconds)  #TimeWithGodTransforms

Every person in the world has 168 hours. We've got to decide, are we going to tithe or give some of that to God? Are we going to try to do it our way where we're already not getting stuff done? And now because we're not spending much time with God, we're also not getting that stuff done very effectively or fruitfully or full of peace and joy and the Holy Ghost. [00:04:32] (20 seconds)  #168HoursStewardship

This is where we begin to fall in love. It's time with Him. It's time beholding His beauty, His excellencies, seeing His heart about things, and even His heart about us that causes us to fall in love with Him. ...if my focus is on everything else, I'm never having real quality time with God. If you're going to go on a date with somebody, yeah, you can go in groups, but come on, man, that's not the same thing as when you are just one -on -one. And this most important of relationships, the falling in love thing, happens when we're alone together praying and in His Word. [00:06:42] (46 seconds)  #FallingInLoveWithGod

It's as I'm with Him meditating on His Word that there's, you know, it's not osmosis, but there's something about His Spirit gets on our spirit and gives us enlightened understanding, heart opening, and even grace flowing in to be able to obey in some of the ways we weren't previously able to or even to understand what obedience would be in a situation that we didn't previously understand. We learn to become more like Him through spending more time with Him. [00:07:35] (29 seconds)  #SpiritEnlightensObedience

We just want to have some sobriety of like, who is it that I'm going to talk to? I am going to talk to the king of the universe, and I'm going to talk to my best friend. It's important to get the attitude of like, there should be a worship, there should be a delight, there should be, I'm going to enjoy this person. So we're reverent, we're alert, and we're seeking to demonstrate, God, I want, you know, to experience affection with you, but I also want a surrendered heart to you. Whatever we talk about now, Jesus, I want to be ready to do it. [00:09:09] (26 seconds)  #WorshipWithReverence

There's something about a pattern of creating a holy space that really helps our time with God. and here's two things I would remind you of the best time to have time with God is when you're at your best okay so what is the moment when are you gonna be most alert most able most ready okay there's not a bunch of distractions going on you're not like you know coming in and half dead and half tired. [00:09:47] (21 seconds)  #BestTimeBestOffer

But the final thing that I like to do is I commit my day and commit my way. My day is, God, here's all the things that I think I'm doing today. Would you help me be led by these? Help me represent you well? I'm just asking you to be in the day and lead me in this. But then also, I just commit my way. If there's any way in me that is unpleasing to you or things that, like, my heart just isn't right or I need to be corrected in terms of how I'm going about this, would you just correct my way? Make my way a blessing to the people around me and to you so that I'm going the right way in all things. [00:16:19] (33 seconds)
