1. "For the last 30, 40 years, Christianity was growing within the U.S., especially Evangelicalism. There were more people turning to the church, and it felt like a very kind of revitalized time of church life. Churches were growing and experiencing all of that. But now we live in what's been described as a post-Christian culture. The reality is that the majority of our neighbors are not Christians. And we feel that. We watch every year churches in our neighborhood and our community closing." [44:20] (30 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

2. "God is still God. God's promises are still true. And even though throughout the time of history, kind of the people of God go up. And down. God is consistent. And he's still worth following today. And so the reality is that the forms of religion change over time. But God remains the same. The forms of religion change over time. But God remains the same. And so we must embrace the change with confident trust in the faithfulness of God." [45:16] (43 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

3. "Our job is to move with the change, not trusting ourselves or the change, but trusting God. Having a confident trust in God and his faithfulness. And so when we look at this passage, we see, like, they're navigating this same thing. Their forms of religion are changing. And so how do they enter into that change with this confident trust in God? First, as they embrace the change, they honor the past. They honor the past. They honor the past. And when we walk through change, we have to remember where we came from." [46:11] (36 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

4. "Remember where you came from. And remembering where you came from isn't just about remembering where you came from, right? Your story is built on the story of those who have come before you. And so it's important for us as a congregation as well to remember where we've come from, to honor the past. To honor those on whose shoulders we stand on. To recognize that." 5. "Embracing the changes of life requires us to trust the faithfulness of God. The reality is. It's just true. That the forms of religion. Change over time. But God never changes. It's important that as we embrace change. That we don't leave God behind. Right? There's actually a danger on both sides. There's a danger of clinging to the past so much. That we're holding on to an empty form of religion. That God no longer is present in. It's also possible that we run ahead of God. And go whoo change. And we forget about God." 6. "When we cling too tightly to the traditions of the past. We actually miss God's presence today. When we hold too tightly to the forms of religion. That have sustained us. We miss the presence of God today. Whatever season it is. Whatever season of life you're in. Whether you're in bondage in Egypt. Wandering in the wilderness. Or feeling secure and stable in the promised land. God is there with you. forms of religion. The ways that we worship. They change over time. God never changes. So we can embrace the change. With confident trust. In the faithfulness of God. Whatever season you're in. Look to him. Trust in him. Seek him now." [01:03:04] (66 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)
