The mindset of abundance and the mindset of scarcity. So right where you sit in the corridors of your imagination, I want you to just draw a line in the sand. Just draw a big line, a line that divides, where there's something on one side of the line and there's something else on the other side of the line. [00:04:08] (33 seconds)

On the other side of the line is the goodness of God. Can you say goodness of God? The goodness of God. And on that side of the line, he says that I have come that you might have life, John 10, 10, and have it more. What? Abundantly. On this side of the line is the mindset of abundance. [00:05:39] (28 seconds)

And he says in response to that, verse 10, bring all your tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And then he says, and try me. It's one of the few places in the scriptures, where he puts out a challenge. He says, I dare you to try this. [00:13:52] (23 seconds)

In place of following the rules in place of following the law that was laid out in Leviticus of tithing which ranged by the way between 10 and 33 and a third percent biblical tithing that's the Old Testament framework for tithing that is what's commonly preached in most and many churches in place of following the rules of tithing we are called to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit [00:25:37] (40 seconds)

So he's saying give in proportion to how God has been good to you and save it so that no collection will need to be made when I come. When I arrive, I'll send whomever you approve with letters of authorization to take your gift of charity and love to Jerusalem. [00:29:49] (22 seconds)

But if you live here and you trust the goodness of God, you trust his unfailing love, you trust his love for his children, then you can rest. I don't have to pass the chicken bucket. I don't have to look over your shoulder to see what you're given or jump into your account, which I have no access to anyway, to see if you're actually doing anything because it's between you and the Lord. [00:41:08] (31 seconds)

Letting go of our financial resources for the expansion of the kingdom of heaven on earth serves as one of the most powerful witnesses of God's kingdom. to the world of Christ alive in us. I started this series out with that very statement because it's true. [00:49:24] (24 seconds)
