In China, at least what it used to be, they did Church like we do it in the homes except they did it in secret because they weren't allowed to do that. Even with the singing, they would tell me about when they used to just mouth the words because they couldn't let the neighbors hear. [00:04:52]

They wanted to gather to worship so badly that they would hide in these secret places. They would just mouth the words to one another like I gave myself away, just quietly because no one could know they were worshiping. They couldn't just bring friends to this Gathering. [00:08:56]

All of the people in the church started to tell their friends, and all of these churches started to grow. It's estimated under communism that it's grown to about 100 million people now, 100 million Christians growing that way. It's just this cool thing where everyone saw their responsibility. [00:57:32]

I want to talk about this one Village I went to. This was the most beautiful picture of church I'd ever seen. It was up in the mountains, rural China, where they're picking rice, picking corn, eating off the land. They got their own animals, and it was about 70 families. [02:41:08]

These 70 families had all become Christians. In reading the scriptures, they saw their need to care for the widows and the orphans, so they began adopting kids out of the orphanage. These 70 families, each family adopted like two or three kids. They adopted 160 kids. [03:21:92]

All of the kids are special needs kids. They all have cerebral palsy or Down syndrome. They have limbs missing, heads swollen from some disease. There's blind kids, deaf kids. You see these Believers, we just sang that song I give my life away. That's the idea of becoming a Christian. [03:47:20]

In Ephesians 3, it talks about the church. In verse 10, it says that through the church, the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the Heavenly places. That's a lot of words right there and some big words, but it talked about the manifold wisdom of God. [05:59:96]

The point of the church was not that it would just amaze people, but that there's these Heavenly beings. It's not just about flesh and blood. It's not just about us right now. There's demons, there's Angels, there's Heavenly beings looking on, and somehow the Way That We Gather is not just supposed to surprise the people in the world. [06:42:80]

The dream for us is man, I want to know Christ. I want to know the power of his resurrection. I want to know the fellowship of his sufferings. God, could I be so beautiful one day that I just let people spit on me and torture me and have my life end for someone else? [10:09:64]

In 2 Corinthians chapter 8, it describes exactly what I'm talking about. Second Corinthians chapter 8 verse 1: We want you to know, Brothers, about the grace of God that has been given among the churches of Macedonia. For in a severe test of Affliction, their Abundance of Joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity. [17:07:83]

They gave according to their means, I can testify, and beyond their means of their own accord, begging us earnestly for the favor of taking part in the relief of the Saints. This not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then by the will of God to us. [17:43:00]

The grace of God is on you when your character has changed and you've been conformed into Christlikeness. It's like man, the grace of God is on their lives. Just yesterday, Thursday, I get a text from my best friend in high school. I graduated high school in '85, funny, 30 years ago. [21:21:36]
