“John tells us that God lowered himself to our level because we can never rise to his. What if we did the same? We could lower ourselves out of our comfort zones and go to the hurting and lost. Just have a conversation. Build a relationship with others who are not like us. Don't go shaking your bible or preaching at them or telling them what they've done wrong because that's just gonna push them away. Love them. Help them. Feed them. Sit down, have a cup of coffee, and do life with them. Talk to someone who's unhoused and hear their story. get to know their story. People often need God's love demonstrated to them before they can believe it. How about the addict? The teenager that's starting to get in trouble with the law. It may feel uncomfortable at first, but there's power and presence. Just show up, be consistent, love unconditionally without ridicule and judgment. You don't know. You might become the only stable thing in that person's life.”

#GodWithUs
“God made his dwelling among us. There's something so poetic about that. God knew that we could never rise to his level, so he lowered himself to ours. He went from impersonal to personal, not just for all humanity, but for the least of humanity. Jesus got ridiculed for hanging out with the sinners, the tax collectors, the fishermen, women, all people that were considered the low end of the social ladder at the time. Jesus came to hear the heal the blind and the lame and the leopard. We all have the privilege and the ability to get to know God in a very deep and personal way. I am so grateful to have a personal God. Aren't you?”

#WalkLikeChrist
“God made us like him, flesh in the likeness of God. God, but not God. However, when we have that deep personal relationship with Jesus, we have God in us. can learn to walk like Christ and talk like Christ and love like Christ, becoming the word and flesh through our speech and our actions. John tells us that God lowered himself to our level because we can never rise to his. What if we did the same? We could lower ourselves out of our comfort zones and go to the hurting and lost.”
