71s
“``It is a reminder we need to take moments of God with God as well. Right? When we're parents or when we have influence in the lives of kids, like when we're working with kids, we need to be so saturated in God. Right? Like, and I'm not just saying because they're gonna test your patience, they do sometimes. I'm saying like in any point of time in our life we just need to be we just need to spend that time in the presence of God. There's a strengthening a rooting that happens when we sit in the presence of God and just sit there. Right? Like when we just take those moments and sit there. I think Elijah's story reminds us that in the highest moments of our lives, when we feel the most powerful, when we've had these moments where we just see God moving and working, we're still human. Right? We are not God. We are still human.”

“And what does that look like? What does that mean? That means we take a day to sit in the presence of God, to do things that give us life and we'll talk about that in just a second. But like, we need to be doing some things that give us life and that honor God. Now, we honor God every day, I get that. We're supposed to honor God every day with our lives, but there are things that we just we trust in God so much that we're going to take one day in the week where we are not busy, where we are not going to do all the things that need to be done because we know that if we take that time and honor God with that time, will have the time to get the rest of the stuff done.”

“Second point, we need rest. God calls us to be people of the Sabbath. Right? God calls us to take a Sabbath. Now, I know some people argue that the only day you can take in Sabbath is a Sunday, but I say that's not necessarily true. We've gotta take a day. I know it is the world that says we have to be busy every single day. We have to have something going on because if we don't, then we are lazy. Right? And that's what the world says. If you don't do something every single day then you are a lazy person and we can't give into that. As Christians, we are called to be people of Sabbath.”
42s
“This is a reminder of all that he's done for us and that he's given us this opportunity of relationship and and he's created the world. Right? And all of these things and and he remembers that we're still human. And we still need rest and we still need to nourish ourselves and and and he can use us in big ways and we just need to remember to take care of ourselves too. He doesn't call us to just continue to do and do and do and do and get burnt out. He calls us to take some time and sit with him too.”
