Sermon Clips

Elijah's life demonstrates unwavering support, um unwavering dependence on God and faith in him. We don't even know where this man is coming from, but his journey teaches us to trust God, live with his purpose, and stand boldly in our faith. He himself depended on God all his life. [00:01:44]

The issue is that when God is mentioned, how you perceive him is who he becomes to you. When God is mentioned and you perceive him as small, he becomes small to you. But when God is mentioned and you know that he's your Source, he becomes your source to you. Hallelujah. [00:04:48]

Elijah knew the word of God in Deuteronomy 11:16, which we shall read to 17. The Bible says take heed to yourself, least your heart be deceived and you turn aside and serve other gods and worship them. Verse 76 says let the Lord's anger arouse against you and shall shut up the Heavens. [00:08:13]

If you are not careful, your church can be an idol to you without realizing it. Your children, your work, your family can be an idol to you rather than seeking the one who was crucified for you. If you're not careful, you put a rosary or some cross in your pocket and think that that is where your salvation is. [00:11:06]

Elijah questions the mindset of the People. 18:21 First Kings and Elijah said, came to the people and said, how long will you be limping onto opinion? If God is God, follow him, but if Bal is God, then follow him. And the people did not answer a word. [00:13:27]

The people had an altar for the Lord, but that was broken. They were following after other gods. So he questions them and provides a contest. Let's build these altars. You have a God, I have my God, but the god that will answer by fire, he is God. [00:14:56]

When your life is given to God as an offering, as an altar, as a sacrifice filled with the water of the word of God, the spirit of God is always active in your life. Sin shall not rule over your mortal body, and that is why Romans Chapter 2 says that. [00:17:14]

If you see dryness in your life, things are not going too well, things are a bit too slow, check your altars, check how you are praying, check your Reliance on the word of God, check what you are trusting. Start looking deeper into things because the Bible said after these when the altars were built. [00:18:57]

Elijah went to the top of Mount camel, then he bowed down on the ground and put his face between his knees. James chapter 5:1 17 tells us that he was a man who prayed persistently, but here they also give us a posture. What is your posture when you are praying? [00:22:37]

Elijah prayed with his head in his knees to filter out every distraction, and Jesus said when you are praying, go into your closet and the good old close your eyes. Destruction will not bring answers from God. [00:24:40]

For us Christians, the Bible has told us we are seated with Christ in the heavenlies, far above principalities, Powers, rulers, authorities, and spiritual wickedness in high places. And in case you don't know, God has made you greater than Elijah, and that's a secret I'm telling you today. [00:30:41]

I pray that you would review your own faith. Whom have you trusted? Whom have you believed? And I know that it is God, but I want you to go over and question your own faith that you don't waver between two opinions and make God your God. [00:32:20]
