#ServantLeadership
“``If there's one person that deserves to be at the top of the power pyramid, it's Jesus. And Jesus says, here's what I'm gonna use my authority for. I'm gonna die on the cross for you. I'm gonna give my life to serve you because I love you. Authority becomes an issue when it's abused. The early church was flat and and oftentimes in in authority. And in the same way, we have taken our ideas of authority and culture, and we've pulled them into the church, and we've made positions about power.”

#ScriptureOverCulture
“Far too often, we take culture and what's politically correct more seriously than we do what God's word says. And so, yeah, there's some parts of God's word that may not sit great with you. If that's the if that's the hardest part of the bible you've ever read, man, let me tell you something. There's some other parts of the bible I'd like you to read. There's some parts that we gotta wrestle through. And the issue is not where exactly do you come out in the end. The issue is, do you take God's word seriously? And are you willing to submit your cultural and personal preferences to what scripture teaches? And if so, then we can trust each other that we're doing our best to study scripture and to follow Jesus together.”

#ImagoDeiTogether
“Together, men and women embody the image of God. Both are needed in order to view God in the manner in which he wants to reveal himself. God is not a man or woman, in case you were wondering. God is God. God is very different and very distinct from you. If God was like you he would not be God. I am very confident. So God is different and he has revealed himself through us his creation. We are made in his image, but both men and women bear the image of God. Together, that means equal dignity, value, purpose.”

#SameButDifferent
“What's important for you to note is these two words here, helper and suitable. The word helper is the same word used in the Old Testament for the presence or the spirit of God. It says God is our helper, our Azar. He's the one who comes alongside us. He's the one who provides what's missing. And the word suitable is the word kinegeto, which means same but different. And it comes from a Hebrew word root word where you would look in a mirror or in a river and you see your reflection. And the reflection is the same but everything is reversed. So it is the same, but different. So woman is the same as man, but different from man.”
