Victory is not achieved through worldly means or empty claims, but by aligning oneself with the love, obedience, and example of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. When one is with the Prophet ﷺ, Allah grants forgiveness, cleanses the soul, and bestows the honor of being placed on the straight path, Siratul Mustaqeem. This connection is the clear victory (Fathan Mubeen) that brings Divine support and protection, especially in times of immense difficulty and oppression. The true path to La ilaha illallah is through perfecting the reality of Muhammadun Rasulullah ﷺ, and only those who hold fast to this love and allegiance will find success in this world and the next. [19:26]
Qur’an, Surah Al-Fath (48:1-3):
“Indeed, We have given you, [O Muhammad], a clear conquest. That Allah may forgive for you what preceded of your sin and what will follow and complete His favor upon you and guide you to a straight path. And [that] Allah may aid you with a mighty victory.”
Reflection: What is one practical way you can increase your love and connection to the Prophet ﷺ today—through salawat, studying his life, or embodying his character in your actions?
When the world is squeezed by hardship and Divine testing, true character is revealed. In these moments, it is essential to reflect on oneself, suppress bad traits, and let good character shine forth. Those who respond to trials with kindness, generosity, and patience are granted a Divine umbrella of protection, while those who allow anger and negativity to surface are swept away by the tide of tribulation. This period of global difficulty is a cleansing, a chance to prepare for the greater judgment, and a call to embody the Prophetic example of mercy and goodness. [07:25]
James 1:2-4 (ESV):
“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
Reflection: When faced with a challenge or irritation today, how can you consciously choose to respond with patience and good character, reflecting the mercy of the Prophet ﷺ?
Allah’s authority encompasses the heavens and the earth, and He grants His mighty support to those who are truthful, avoid corruption, and uphold the heavenly way. In times of widespread deception and fitna, it is vital to cling to honesty, avoid anger and aggression, and perform good deeds. These actions become a light and a shield, attracting Divine tranquility (sakeenah) and increasing faith, even as difficulties intensify. The people of truth become beacons for others, guiding them away from darkness and into the safety of Divine mercy. [28:32]
Qur’an, Surah Al-Fath (48:4):
“It is He who sent down tranquility into the hearts of the believers that they would increase in faith along with their [present] faith. And to Allah belong the soldiers of the heavens and the earth, and ever is Allah Knowing and Wise.”
Reflection: In what area of your life can you commit to greater truthfulness or integrity today, even if it is difficult or countercultural?
No one can receive Divine power, protection, or victory without being under the bayat—the spiritual allegiance and connection to the hand of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, as represented by the awliya (saints) and the true inheritors of his way. This covenant is sealed by Allah Himself, and breaking it is to one’s own detriment. Maintaining this allegiance through love, obedience, and following the Prophetic example is the key to receiving immense reward and support, especially in times of tribulation. [41:17]
Qur’an, Surah Al-Fath (48:10):
“Indeed, those who pledge allegiance to you, [O Muhammad]—they are actually pledging allegiance to Allah. The hand of Allah is over their hands. So he who breaks his word only breaks it to the detriment of himself. And he who fulfills that which he has promised Allah—He will give him a great reward.”
Reflection: How can you renew or strengthen your spiritual allegiance to the Prophet ﷺ today—whether through intention, prayer, or seeking the company of those who embody his teachings?
The journey of life is a struggle (jihad) against one’s own ego and bad character. True spiritual progress comes from confronting and purifying the self, not judging others, and striving to bring out the qualities that are pleasing to Allah. This self-reflection and inner struggle prepare the soul for the ultimate meeting with the Divine and ensure that one’s love and good deeds become intercession in the grave and the hereafter. [05:39]
Qur’an, Surah Al-Hashr (59:19):
“And be not like those who forgot Allah, so He made them forget themselves. Those are the defiantly disobedient.”
Reflection: What is one negative trait or habit you can honestly confront and begin to work on today, asking Allah for help in transforming it into something pleasing to Him?
In these times of immense difficulty and oppression upon the earth, it is essential to remember that all victory belongs to Allah, while the struggle is the portion of creation. Every soul, regardless of their background or denomination, is being tested and squeezed, much like a lemon, to reveal their true character. The trials we face are not random; they are a divinely orchestrated cleansing, a chance for each of us to confront our own shortcomings, angers, and negative traits. Rather than judging others, the focus must be on self-reflection—identifying what is displeasing within ourselves and striving to bring forth the qualities that are pleasing to Allah.
When calamities and difficulties descend, it is a sign that peace has left and the anger of Allah has entered. In such times, the only shelter is to seek the umbrella of Divine protection through good character, righteous deeds, and sincere love for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. The path of tariqah and the guidance of awliya (saints) are crucial, as they preserve the true essence of Islam and provide the light that guides people through darkness and deception. The reality of victory is not found in worldly power or empty claims, but in aligning oneself with the love and example of the Prophet ﷺ.
Surah al-Fath (Surah 48) is a Divine blueprint for victory. The clear victory (Fathan Mubeen) is the presence and love of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. To be with him is to be cleansed, forgiven, and adorned with Divine mercy. The true custodians of the faith are those who uphold the banner of Muhammadun Rasulullah ﷺ, and the authority of the heavens and earth is vested in him. The awliya, though unseen, carry this trust and guide the sincere towards the light.
Key to this path is the concept of bayat—swearing allegiance and connecting one’s hand to the hand of the Prophet ﷺ through the awliya. This connection is the seal of Divine support, protection, and victory. Without it, one is left vulnerable to the tides of tribulation. The victorious are those who maintain this allegiance, embody good character, and continuously send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ, thereby attracting Divine tranquility, increased faith, and the mighty help of Allah. Ultimately, the struggle is to ensure that at the end of our lives, our love, actions, and character testify to our allegiance and grant us access to the intercession and companionship of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ in this life and the hereafter.
Surah al-Fath (Qur’an 48:1-10) — (Note: Since the sermon is based on Islamic teachings and the Qur’an, the primary text is Surah al-Fath. For the purposes of this study, we will focus on the key verses referenced in the sermon: 48:1-10, which discuss the concept of clear victory (Fathan Mubeen), forgiveness, Divine mercy, and the importance of allegiance (bayat) to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.)
This opportunity for us to self-reflect and look to ourselves to see the good character and bring it out, the bad character push it down. If the bad character begins to come out in times of difficulty you'll be washed in the tide of azab. But if the goodness comes out through guidance and the teachings of guidance then you should be given like a Divinely umbrella that protects you from calamities upon this earth. [00:07:12] (43 seconds)
So then this is a heavenly way and a heavenly reality. And that's why then they come to teach that, watch out, in this time when shaitan is making fitna and what we call fitna is deception, deceit and bad character, don't enter into these bad characters because you're going to get swept into a wave of immense difficulty. [00:13:10] (25 seconds)
When you see the anger of God coming, do good deeds, it's an insurance policy. You know it's like you think you're going to get sick, really sick, you go buy health insurance, hope they give you like six months before you have to use it or go get some life insurance but hope they don't do a medical test. But Allah is a lot easier than insurance companies, just immediately do good deeds. [00:13:35] (28 seconds)
If Allah going to place you with Sayyidina Muhammad ?, can you come dirty? Someone say, I want to take you to the king and you're homeless and all filthy and dirty, you don't think somebody going to wash you first, clean you, perfume you, say, because then we honour our king. So, Allah made the king of the heavens and the earth, so I'm going to place you with Prophet ?, of course I'm not going to let your Sayyid be in front of his presence. I'm going to clean your past and I'm going to clean your future. [00:19:20] (37 seconds)
So, Allah , because He knows what these verses are for. You want sifat yansirukullahu al-Nasr al-Azeez Allah said, then you're going to be given an immense sakeenah in your heart, peace and tranquility. While Allah describes awliya, they don't have any fear or grief. God addressed them with an immense sakeenah. [00:28:11] (23 seconds)
The faith you had when everything was great is not going to be the same when the faith you're going to have when everything is difficult. And Allah is granting in this ayatul kareem, no, whatever faith you have we're going to keep dosing it up. [00:28:53] (17 seconds)
So, it means that your king, he's shahidan, he witnesses everything you do, mubashiran is that his nazar and dua is a immense lights upon your soul. For your soul and for your physicality, anybody mubashiran, you're like a walking chandelier on this earth, lights shimmering and everything and God's satisfaction coming upon you. [00:34:35] (28 seconds)
And if in the end of our life say, Ya Rabbi we did our bayad, we took whatever we could, we tried to follow the example best that we could and let our love speak for us, not anything else. If my love manifested in good deeds and good character and good actions and that be my intercession in the grave and allow me access to Prophet ? within our lives, within aqab and into the hereafter. [00:45:39] (27 seconds)
