The people who come to Jesus are given to Jesus by the Father. The coming and the giving are the same thing, aren't they? And when somebody comes to Jesus, he will never cast them out. How does God sovereignly secure our salvation? [00:00:06]

Jesus picks up on the point of 2B he gave us eternal life there in 2B and he picks up on the point in three that this life is to know God. And there are no requests in verses 6 to 8. Let's read these verses. [00:00:58]

I manifested thy name to the men whom thou gavest me out of the world. Now let's just pause there and make the connection. It says he manifested the Father's name here. It says he gave them eternal life, and then he defines eternal life as knowing thee. [00:01:22]

Giving them eternal life must mean making the Father known is the same as manifesting his name. So he's picking up on the point here. I did manifest thy name, that is, I did make them known, that is, I did give them eternal life. [00:01:39]

I have completed the work you gave me to do. I have made your name known to them. They do now know you; therefore, they do now have eternal life. I have succeeded. These men are the stamp of approval on my Ministry. [00:04:00]

The Father giving people to the Son and the Son responds by giving them eternal life. Then here in verse 6A, I manifested thy name to the men whom thou Hast given me out of the world. So there it is again, the Father gives people to the Son. [00:06:07]

The Son responds by manifesting his name, and that's eternal life, to know the name of the Father. And then says it more clearly here, thou gavest them to me, thine they were before they ever came to Jesus, they belonged to the Father. [00:06:33]

All that the Father gives me will come to me, and him who comes to me I will not cast out. Isn't that the same thing now? All that the Father gives to me will come to me, and him who comes I will not cast out. [00:08:15]

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. So there you have it again, if anybody comes to the Son, it is because the Father Drew him. [00:09:01]

This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted to him by the Father. So there you have the Father granting to people the ability to come to the Son, and it said against the backdrop of Judah. [00:10:00]

You do not believe because you do not belong to my sheep. Now I think that's right here, thine they were, they were God's sheep or Jesus' sheep before they believe. Verse 26, you do not believe because you do not belong to my sheep. [00:11:09]

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me, and I give them eternal life. There's the connection with chapter 17. I give here it is, that's just a restatement of 2B, isn't it? [00:13:05]
