#GraceThroughWarning
“``Isn't god gracious? Isn't god gracious? Now, some of you may be saying, wait a minute, pastor. This was you just read a bunch of verses about judgment, about consequences for their sin. How can you call that gracious? How does god pronouncing judgment? How is that gracious? Friends, it's gracious because it was a warning to them. Even friends in his pronouncements of judgments, god is gracious because those pronouncements of judgment are a warning to us. God warns us for what reason? To give us an opportunity repent.”

#NoSuperficialFaith
“Will we really do what God says even if we don't want to? Because friends, if we won't, then our ask of God is just a superficial request for a guidance. It's just a superficial perfunctory request, friends, and and I believe that is the first step down the path of disobedience. Yeah. We act like we're all spiritual. Yeah, we act like we're going to follow god. We want Jesus to lead us and all this but in reality, we're just going to do what? What we want to do.”

#GraceInConfrontation
“Maybe you read god's word and you think god's word is harsh. Maybe you read god's word or or you are confronted in some other way with your sin. Friends, along the path of disobedience when god warns you, that is actually god's grace. Drawing you to himself, telling you his standard, and giving you a chance to repent rather than just you finding out when you end up in hell. God's warnings are his grace in action.”

#SurrenderAndSalvation
“Friend, if you're here this morning and that is you, You've been on that path of disobedience, and you persisted in not doing what God wants you to do and not following him, but just living your life for yourself, would you today say, Lord Jesus, I know that I've sinned against you. I believe today that you died to pay for my sin. And today, I wanna turn from my sin. I wanna turn to you as the god, the lord, and the boss of my life. Friends, if you will simply invite him into your life, not just some superficial, but you say, lord, I wanna give my life. I wanna surrender my life to you, friends. Then the Bible says, whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved, and that can be yours. You can be a child of God today.”

#ObeyDontJustPromise
“the wonderful news is along this this this path of disobedience. Here's the thing. You can leave the path of disobedience at any point. And the way we leave the path of disobedience is to do what? There you go. That's exactly it. It's to obey. Right? Unfortunately, they did not. The third step along the path of path of disobedience is disobedience. It is a rejection of God's commands. It's kind of amazing, honestly. The the Israelites, the Judeans here had promised. Remember back in verse six of chapter 42, they had promised to obey god no matter what. Jeremiah asked god, we promise whether it's good or bad, whatever. We will do what he says, but they didn't.”

#TurnFromSinReceiveForgiveness
“It is the path of saying, god, I've I've disobeyed you. Instead of following you and putting you first in my life, god, I've done what I want to do. I've lived my life for me, and I've come to realize god that that at its basic level is the root of sin. Are you willing to say, god, forgive me? Today, I wanna turn from doing things my way, god, and I wanna surrender to you. I want you to be the lord and the boss of my life. Friends, when we turn from our sin and when we repent to the lord, god has his arms open wide. As we sang this morning, god throws our sins into an endless sea. Amen? He separates them from us as far as the East is from the West, and we can be forgiven for anything we've ever done if we will turn from our sin and put our faith and trust in him as our lord and savior.”

#ObeyOrDisobeyNoMiddleGround
“So friends, let me ask you a question. Did god want them to go to Egypt or not? He didn't want them to go to Egypt. Was god unclear about that? Not at all. Was Jeremiah unclear about that? Not at all. So what we can what we can deduce from this is going to Egypt equals disobeying the lord. Friends, when it comes to god's commands for us, there are only two choices. We can either obey god or we can disobey him. There are no other options. There's no, I'll do it god but I'm gonna do it my way. There's no, I'll do it god but I'll do it when I want to. There's no, god, I'll do, I'll do some of what god says but not all of what god says. Friends, there is no middle ground is disobedience. There is obeying god and there is disobeying god and here's the thing, you know what god tells us to do often goes counter to our human logic and reason. Did you know that? It often goes counter to what we think we ought to do.”

#SinIsDeceptive
“Friends, all I can say about that is sin is deceptive. Amen? Satan makes worldly things look so alluring and our flesh is drawn to pleasure and we need to understand that there is pleasure in sin for a season and so because of that, many of them, friends, many today continue to ignore god's warnings and defy his commands. Why is it that instead of when we read the scriptures, when we hear god's warnings, why is it instead of heeding god's warnings and turning from our sin that we often double down on what we're doing? And we continue to defy God and disobey him, friends. Is it just because you know what I think it is? I think it's just because we wanna do what we wanna do. I think it's as simple as that. So we need to be careful.”
