Some choices look simple, but they aren’t always clear. A job or opportunity might seem to pull you away, yet God may place you there to shine as a full-time witness, not a part-time one. The question is less “Is Sunday on my schedule?” and more “Am I living this for God’s glory wherever I am?” Don’t label a decision good or bad too quickly; bring it before the Lord. Ask how this path will shape your love for Him and others. Seek to honor God in every place you stand, and let your life be the sermon people hear [04:10]
Proverbs 3:5–6: Put your whole trust in the Lord instead of leaning on your own conclusions; in every step you take, pay attention to Him, and He will clear the way and show you where to walk.
Reflection: What decision before you seems “obvious,” and how could inviting God’s glory into that choice change the way you approach it this week?
Faith grows when sight fails. Abraham stepped out without a map, trusting the One who called him more than the details he didn’t have. Like a child who relaxes in a parent’s arms even in the dark, you are held by a Father who truly knows best. You don’t have to see everything to obey the next step. Trust isn’t pretending the unknown is easy; it’s remembering who walks with you into it [14:05]
Hebrews 11:8–10: By faith Abraham obeyed when God called him to go, even though he didn’t know the destination; he lived like a traveler, waiting for the lasting city with true foundations, the one designed and built by God.
Reflection: Where is your vision limited right now, and what single, concrete step of obedience could you take today to trust God with what you cannot see?
God is willing to guide; the question is whether you are willing to be led. A teachable heart is the classroom where wisdom lands. As your thinking is renewed, God’s will becomes clearer, and your desires begin to align with His. Stubbornness blurs direction; surrender sharpens it. Ask the Spirit to reshape your patterns of thought so you can recognize and embrace God’s good path [20:12]
Romans 12:2: Don’t let the world shape you on its terms; let God change you from the inside out by renewing your mind, so you can recognize, welcome, and live out what He wants—what is good, pleasing, and complete.
Reflection: What mindset or habit of thinking do you need to lay down this week so you can better discern God’s guidance in a specific area of your life?
Everyone has a gift, and no one has them all. Pay attention to what brings life, what others affirm, and where real fruit shows up—these are often clues to your God-given design. Your gift isn’t better or worse than another’s; it’s essential when offered for the good of others. Align your passions and abilities with faithful work that builds people up and honors Christ. Let community feedback refine your sense of calling, and let love be the reason you use your gift [35:04]
Romans 12:6: We each have different gifts because of God’s grace; so use the gift you’ve been given—whether serving, teaching, encouraging, leading, or showing mercy—in the way God has equipped you.
Reflection: Which ability do people consistently notice and appreciate in you, and how could you use it this week to serve someone specific?
You don’t have to figure this out alone. Seek God in prayer and fasting, and invite wise mentors to help you test and confirm your next steps. Scripture shows us companions on the journey—Moses with Aaron and Joshua, David with Nathan, Paul with Barnabas. Work is more than a paycheck; it’s a place to serve, grow, and bless. Listen with your heart, trust God’s leading, and when clarity comes, take the step He shows you [52:32]
Isaiah 48:17: The Holy One says, “I am your God who trains you for what benefits you and shows you the road you should travel.”
Reflection: Who could come alongside you as a mentor in this season, and what is one concrete way you will reach out to begin that conversation this week?
Today I pressed us to think about choices that honor God, not just choices that look spiritual on the surface. Sometimes the “obvious” answer isn’t the faithful answer. Working on a Sunday might sound like it pulls you away, but what if God places you there to witness by how you work, how you speak, how you love? The real question is: are we full-time Christians—Monday to Sunday—or part-time, switching our faith on and off depending on setting and schedule?
Trust is crucial. Abraham stepped into the unknown. Children leap into their father’s arms—until the lights go out. Do we still trust when we can’t see? Scripture says God teaches us to profit and leads us in the way we should go. Father knows best. The issue is not whether God wants to guide; it’s whether we want to be led. A teachable heart will find a Teacher.
We walked through Romans 12: a renewed mind begins to align our will with God’s will. That has everything to do with careers and callings. Don’t just ask, “What do I want?” Ask, “What has God already given?” Your gifts and your holy desires are clues. If you can’t stand blood, you don’t have to abandon medicine; there’s a lane in the lab. If algebra drains you, don’t force a life that will hollow you out; teach what you love and use it to serve. Everyone has a gift; nobody has them all. Listen to the Body; affirmation and fruit are God’s highlighters.
We also talked about preaching and ministry. A call should be confirmed in community, mentored in humility, and expressed in many forms—pulpit, prison, nursing home, classroom. In our house we have a pathway for young ministers—practice, feedback, growth. Whatever we choose must not compromise our faith. Work is more than money; it’s worship when aligned with Scripture.
Practical steps: pray and fast; take a spiritual gifts inventory; keep a daily journal to watch where grace keeps showing up; seek mentors. God’s process is simple and costly: listen, trust, obey.
