#GlorifyInTrials
“``Jesus looked at the hardest moment of his life and he said, this is what I signed up for. And many of you aren't as clear about what God's purpose for your life is, but I can give you a big picture of what it is. He wants to conform you to the image of his son. He wants to make you like Jesus Christ. You know how that happens the best way? Through our difficulties, through our suffering, through our trials. So, do you know what you should say during your trials? The same thing Jesus said, Father, glorify your name.”

#SufferWellGlorify
“The goal shouldn't be just for it to be removed. The question you should be asking, the question I should be asking is, what does it look like in my present set of circumstances to glorify God? Let's say you've got a prodigal child. What does it look like to glorify God? Maybe you've got an illness. Maybe you're you're having money problems. What does it look like to bring God glory in these circumstances? This is what I think Christian maturity looks like. When we suffer well, people can see that our hope is in something outside of ourselves. The mature Christian says, okay, I don't like what's going on, but whatever it takes for the world to see you. Because your purpose for my life is greater than my purpose for my life.”

#PurposeInSuffering
“But, what do we do? Let's put this on us. You're facing the hardest circumstances you faced in a while. What is your prayer? I'll venture to say, maybe not these words, but Lord, can you remove these circumstances? Can you change this situation? And I'm not saying that's wrong, but you know what God wants to change in your circumstances? And too often, we're trying to short circuit that and bypass that. You're you're asking god to remove the very thing he placed in your life so you could become more like Jesus Christ. You all you can think is, take it away from me. Save me from this hour. But have you ever thought that maybe the sovereign God had designed these circumstances in such a way to make something out of you?”

#DieToSelfDaily
“Now, let's look at the hard way. It's just the opposite of those, death to self. Now, I need you to know that Jesus isn't giving a lesson on botany. When a seed falls into the ground, it doesn't actually die. It becomes something different. It becomes transformed but this is the road Jesus calls to. Dying calls us to, dying daily to ourselves so that others might live. The question you need to ask yourself this morning is, what in me needs to die so that the world can see Jesus?”
