And so our mission here as we are devoted is to be devoted to God one another and our community And so our purpose is that we would devote ourselves to our relationship with God through Jesus Christ to one another and to our community And our core values that we are going to be building upon are simply to study the word of God to prayer to fellowship to generosity to worship and to witnessing. [00:58:55]

Dear gracious God we thank you for this moment and this opportunity that we have to come together around your word And so Lord let your word be a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our pathway I pray that we will hear this word and not only hear this word but follow the instructions and become doers of your word And Lord we thank you today for what we shall receive from your word. [02:15:00]

I am so excited about taking this journey to become devoted I believe that all of us here have things that we are devoted to But we want to make sure that we are devoted to our relationship with God through his son Jesus Christ devoted to one another and devoted to our community And if we do this we will enhance the kingdom of God. [03:03:12]

And the word of God says all the believers devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to fellowship and to sharing in meals This included the Lord's supper and to prayer And the Bible says that a deep sense of awe came over them all and the apostles performed many miracles signs and wonders And it says "All the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. [04:05:04]

They sold their property and their possessions and shared their money with those in need They worshiped together at the temple each day and met in homes for the Lord's supper and shared their meals with great joy and generosity and all the while praising God and enjoying the good will of all the people And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved. [04:46:32]

And we can see from this scripture today that the early church was devoted to God devoted to each other and devoted to witnessing to those in their community and we are called to that same devotion These in this text had just become saved They had believed on the Lord Jesus Christ for their remission of their sins. [05:28:28]

The apostles had just come out of Pentecost and were witnessing to people about Jesus Christ And these believers became devoted to the teachings that the apostles were bringing forth They were devoted to fellowshipping with one another encouraging one another as they believed on the word of God that the apostles were teaching They also fellowship They ate meals together They were in a community and they strengthened each other through prayer. [06:04:48]

And they also gave to everyone who was in need and that is what the church of today is called to do We are called to make a difference We are called to be devoted to God through his son Jesus Christ through studying the word through prayer devoted to one another checking on one another sharing meals with one another. [06:42:88]

And so we must this year make sure that we are devoted to the things of God And the theme scripture for this year is Acts chapter 2 verse 42 And it reads "All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to fellowship and to sharing in meals including the Lord's supper and prayer." [00:28:96]

I pray that we will hear this word and not only hear this word but follow the instructions and become doers of your word And Lord we thank you today for what we shall receive from your word And it's in Jesus' name we pray And all God's people said "Amen." Amen. [02:34:00]

And so our scripture reading for today is coming from Acts chapter 2 verses 42 through 47 Let's go to the word of God And the word of God says all the believers devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to fellowship and to sharing in meals This included the Lord's supper and to prayer. [03:56:48]

And the Bible says that a deep sense of awe came over them all and the apostles performed many miracles signs and wonders And it says "All the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had They sold their property and their possessions and shared their money with those in need. [04:24:80]
