The new anointing is not the minor leagues. The battle is not softball, brother, but hardball, the real thing, where spiritual victory has to go beyond the surface and down to the root cause. God sent Jesus into this world with divine purpose, and John declares that “in the beginning was the Word,” that the Word was with God, that the Word was God, and that the Word became flesh.
The image of God is not cheekbones, eyes, muscle, bone, or the little house called the body. The image of God is in the spirit. God is a spirit, and man is spirit, not a puppet dangling on strings. God put within man power, authority, dominion, and moral will. That will is the one element in man’s nature that touches every part of his being.
Lucifer rose up with the evil thought, “I will ascend,” and one third of the angels followed him in rebellion. Satan then came to Adam and Eve with compromise, deceit, and lies, making it his business to make them believe God did not mean what he said. Adam and Eve did not merely eat a piece of fruit. Their will shifted allegiance, and that surrendered will became the root where sin took hold.
The spiritual battle is not against flesh and blood. Cancer, arthritis, addiction, broken homes, and tormented minds are surface things, not the deepest problem. The real battle is in the spirit world, against principalities, powers, and spiritual wickedness. Victory comes when the Spirit of God comes upon the surrendered will, because faith is not manufactured by man. Faith is the gift God gives to those who present their bodies as living sacrifices.
Jesus came for this purpose, not only to shed blood and provide forgiveness, but to destroy the works of the devil over mind, body, spirit, soul, and life. The Word became flesh, not as an angel, but as the second Adam, clothed in humanity, to show that the devil could be faced and defeated. Satan thought the cross was open shame, but the cross became Christ’s triumph. Satan thought death was victory, but death became his undoing.
The risen Christ entered the devil’s throne room, where a light began to flicker and grow brighter. The blood was accepted. Death could not hold its prey. Christ took back the keys of dominion, bruised the serpent’s head, and left nothing for the believer to fear but a defeated enemy with a mark across his head.

Key Takeaways
- 1. The battle is below the surface The visible trouble is not always the deepest trouble. Sickness, addiction, fear, and family torment may appear on the surface, but the root belongs to the spirit world. The text calls for discernment that refuses to fight only symptoms when principalities and powers are operating underneath. [09:20]
- 2. God’s image lives in the will The image of God is not a physical resemblance, but a spiritual capacity placed within man. God gave man moral will, the real power to obey or disobey, not puppet strings. That makes surrender holy and rebellion terrible, because the will turns the whole person toward God or away from him. [17:07]
- 3. Satan works through deceitful compromise Satan’s old business is making man believe that God does not mean what he says. The lie in Eden was not merely about fruit, but about confidence in God’s word. Every compromise begins by loosening the soul’s grip on the plain authority of what God has spoken. [21:00]
- 4. Faith belongs to surrendered lives Faith is not a human product that can be worked up by religious effort. Faith is God’s gift given in the place of yielded sacrifice, where the will comes under divine rule. The surrendered life becomes the place where God’s power can move without being limited by man’s own striving. [27:14]
- 5. The cross became Satan’s undoing Satan planned the cross as public shame, but God turned it into open triumph. The death of Christ did not prove the devil’s victory, but began his defeat. The risen Christ took the keys, bruised the serpent’s head, and revealed the enemy as already conquered.
