47s
“Lord Jesus, help us. Help us to settle this in our heart so we face adversity confidently. And help us to be grateful so we face prosperity confidently. That neither the things that seem good or the things that seem bad can ever pull us away from you. Holy Spirit, remind us this week to be grateful. Just nudge us over and over again to be grateful. Because we will forget, Lord. You know that. You know how fickle we are. We will forget. We pray all this, Jesus, because we need you. So we pray all this in your name.”
28s
“Gratitude is what you need to remember because gratitude protects you from all of this. Gratitude protects you from thinking too highly about yourself. It it protects you from thinking you did it. It protects you from becoming bitter and angry when bad things happen. Gratitude keeps your eyes on Christ.”
28s
“Write yourself a note. Get a reminder. Tell someone else. Remind each other. Put it in your phone. Do something. Because gratitude is a superpower. It is the middle of the middle. If there's one sentence, God wants us to remember. What does the relationship between God and his people look like? It looks like us being grateful.”
