“``What's the point here? The point is not just to say, this is this is what I said and what I say goes. The point is to help them establish, to sink their roots into the truth of scripture. The goal is to help them become like those trees that we talked about in the 09:00 hour, that tree planted firmly beside rivers of water, which yields its fruit in its season. bible is not some pious book to display on the coffee table and dust off for births, weddings, and funerals. It's a book that applies to every aspect of life. It tells us what to think and how to act from the most private to the most public details of our lives. We need to teach our kids. We need to teach our grandkids how to have open communication in all of these areas of life. If you wanna raise up godly children, godly grandchildren, you must love god fervently, and you must must teach your children, diligently. But finally, beginning in verse 10, we see that we need to be intentional to live righteously. There's an element of holy living that's described in these verses.”

“That's why Jesus says, I will spew you out of my mouth, vomit you out of my mouth. It's not about hot or cold Christians. It's about usefulness. What is God trying to communicate here? He wants your heart. He wants your affection. He wants your obedience. He wants your usefulness. He wants you. Be intentional to walk with the Lord. That's what this is all about. If you want godly children, godly grandchildren, and you're not walking with God, I'll guarantee you one thing. If it happens in their life, and that's a big if, if it happens in their life, it's by complete accident.”

“We talk about making disciples all the time, don't we? You've heard it once. You've heard it a thousand times here. Our job as believers in the church is to make disciples. let me get right to the point here. Fathers, grandfathers, your primary responsibility in disciple making is your home. If you fail to make disciples in your home, you fail to make disciples. It doesn't mean that you can't go outside the home. There is such thing as as wayward children. There is such thing as unsubmissive wives. But I think it's true that there's a pattern that's established that men need to seek to go after.”

“Notice the progression that sets in when times are good. In verse 11, there's satisfaction. In verse 12, there's forgetting the Lord. And then verse 14, there's following other gods. There's a sense in which it's easier to trust the Lord when times are hard. But if it was not legal to gather as a as a church, everyone with the courage to come would be actively trusting the lord. Isn't that true? For under persecution, it's going to happen. God has a way of separating the sheep from the goats. Probably, we have it pretty easy, though, in this world. We live pretty comfort comfortably. You don't have to trust God to be here. In fact, some people are so comfortable that the they routinely skip being in the Lord's, among the lord's people.”
