53s
“Do we truly have on the close of Christ and his character? Are we truly ready for him? Or if we learn he's coming back tomorrow, are we working to get ready? Because we should already be ready to keep from getting ready. Right? Are you ready for Jesus? Are you ready for him to return? Because he's promised he's going to. Just because he's delayed this long doesn't mean he's not coming back. We have to ask ourselves, am I at a place where I am ready? Do I have on holy clothes? Or do I find myself living differently from what he's called me to be?”
49s
“Peter's words are a challenge, a challenge for us to live by faith in what you have said you will do. You will return. And a challenge for us to be ready with the clothes on so that we don't have to get ready just because we think it's getting close. We need to be ready like you're coming back today. And we need to be working like there's still time to save more.”
47s
“We are to be holy that is separated from sin, separated from ungodliness, evil, and set apart for the service of God as a way of life. And to be godly means to be have reverence toward God seeking to do what pleases him. I like how some people put it. Holy conduct refers to action, while godliness refers to attitude. Holy conduct refers to the way I live my life, while godliness refers to the spirit of reverence within me by which I live my life. So Peter is stating what kind of person I should be in the heart and in the behavior. Right? In motive and in action.”
