#TruthDawns
“Truth dawns, which is to say truth is an encounter. Truth is an encounter with god. Whether it's through the word or through the spirit or through a song or through another person, truth is an encounter. But understanding what happens, that takes time. So we shouldn't feel too bad when it doesn't dawn on us all at once. And let me just add to that. And when the bad stuff happens in your life, it's the same deal. Insight doesn't come all at once. Truth dawns gradually. Now that's not to say we don't have powerful moments of insight. We do. It may come as we read the scriptures or as we worship or as we pray. It may come in the midst of a crisis. It could come at a graveside.”

#HopeEclipsed
“In that eclipse of the sun, there was an eclipse of their spirit, of their hopes, of their dreams. I mean, on Sunday, they thought that the words of the prophet were being fulfilled. David's kingdom was being restored, and all of us have a vision of the kingdom. That is when god comes to us and he settles the accounts with all the folks we don't like. It's a good deal if you can get it. But then in the space of just a few short hours, from Thursday night to Friday, their dreams were shattered. Their spirits were crushed. It is exactly the same for all of us.”
