Small Group Bible Study Guide: “It’ll Be There in the Morning”---
### Bible Reading
Exodus 16:4-15 (ESV) 4 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I am about to rain bread from heaven for you, and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in my law or not. 5 On the sixth day, when they prepare what they bring in, it will be twice as much as they gather daily.” 6 So Moses and Aaron said to all the people of Israel, “At evening you shall know that it was the Lord who brought you out of the land of Egypt, 7 and in the morning you shall see the glory of the Lord, because he has heard your grumbling against the Lord. For what are we, that you grumble against us?” 8 And Moses said, “When the Lord gives you in the evening meat to eat and in the morning bread to the full, because the Lord has heard your grumbling that you grumble against him—what are we? Your grumbling is not against us but against the Lord.”
9 Then Moses said to Aaron, “Say to the whole congregation of the people of Israel, ‘Come near before the Lord, for he has heard your grumbling.’” 10 And as soon as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the people of Israel, they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of the Lord appeared in the cloud. 11 And the Lord said to Moses, 12 “I have heard the grumbling of the people of Israel. Say to them, ‘At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread. Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God.’”
13 In the evening quail came up and covered the camp, and in the morning dew lay around the camp. 14 And when the dew had gone up, there was on the face of the wilderness a fine, flake-like thing, fine as frost on the ground. 15 When the people of Israel saw it, they said to one another, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, “It is the bread that the Lord has given you to eat.”
Matthew 6:11 (ESV) Give us this day our daily bread.
Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV) 22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

### Observation Questions
- According to Exodus 16, what instructions did God give the Israelites about gathering manna, and what happened when they tried to gather more than they needed? ([05:16])
- In the sermon, what was the reason given for why God only provided enough manna for each day instead of a long-term supply? ([10:43])
- How does Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 6:11 connect to the story of manna in Exodus 16? ([14:21])
- What does Lamentations 3:22-23 say about God’s faithfulness and mercy, and how does this relate to the idea of “it’ll be there in the morning”? ([27:36])
---
### Interpretation Questions
- Why do you think God wanted the Israelites to depend on Him daily instead of letting them store up food for the future? What does this reveal about God’s character and His relationship with His people? ([10:43])
- The sermon says, “God will never give us a life where He’s not necessary.” How does this challenge our desire for self-sufficiency? ([04:05])
- The pastor mentioned that comparison is a trap that steals our joy and trust. Why is it so easy to compare our “portion” to others, and what does this do to our faith? ([22:22])
- Jesus taught us to pray for daily bread, not monthly or yearly supplies. What does this say about how God wants us to approach our needs and our worries about the future? ([15:00])

### Application Questions
- Think about a time when you felt overwhelmed by life’s challenges (bills, health, relationships, etc.). How did you respond? Did you find it easy or hard to trust God in that moment? What would it look like to trust Him more next time? ([00:28])
- Are there areas in your life where you are trying to be self-sufficient and not rely on God? What is one step you can take this week to invite God into that area and depend on Him daily? ([04:05])
- The Israelites tried to gather more manna than they needed and it spoiled. Is there something in your life you are “hoarding” out of fear or anxiety about the future? How can you practice letting go and trusting God for today’s needs? ([10:43])
- The sermon talked about the danger of comparison. Is there someone you often compare yourself to? How does this affect your gratitude and trust in God’s provision for your own life? What is one way you can shift your focus to thankfulness this week? ([22:22])
- Jesus taught us to pray for daily bread. What would it look like for you to start each day with a simple prayer for God’s provision and mercy? Is there a specific area where you need to see God’s faithfulness “in the morning”? ([14:21])
- The pastor shared stories of God’s timely provision, even when the answer wasn’t visible yet. Is there a situation in your life right now where you need to believe “it’ll be there in the morning”? How can the group pray for you in this area? ([28:48])
- The sermon said, “Obedience unlocks provision and increases faith.” Is there a step of obedience (giving, serving, forgiving, etc.) that you feel God is asking you to take? What’s holding you back, and what might happen if you take that step? ([17:28])

Close in prayer, asking God to help each person trust Him for daily provision and to see His faithfulness in every season.
