#ChooseYourAllegiance
“``Daniel had all the opportunity for excuses that but Daniel did not choose Babylon. But Daniel did choose that Babylon would not influence him. And maybe that's somebody's testimony today. You didn't choose the family you were born into. You didn't choose everything that happened to you. You didn't choose the culture around you. You didn't choose what they taught you. You didn't choose every temptation that would come your way, but you do get to choose who has authority over your life. Babylon can change your address, but it can never change your allegiance. Babylon can change your language, but it can never change who's your lord. Babylon can change your education, but it can't change your conviction. Babylon can change your environment, but it does not have the power to change your identity.”

#NoCompromise
“And that's why Daniel said, I will not defile myself. In other words, there are some things I just won't eat. There are some conversations I just won't participate in. There are some relationships I just won't enter into. There are some places I won't go. There are some opportunities I won't take. There are some checks I won't cash. New creation, there are some compromises I won't make. That that that's that's what what Daniel is saying. He said, there are some doors I would rather see closed than to walk through them without god.”

#ConvictionOverPreference
“See, culture isn't wrong until it counters the word of God. And see, in our text today, this is what Daniel's going through. He's been taught and is being taught the culture of the Babylonians. But in verse eight, he says, he resolved in his mind that he would not defile himself. Daniel had what we call conviction. Conviction is different than preference. Preference you make when you get the opportunity to choose. Conviction is what you do and you choose beforehand. choose to be con to that you're gonna be faithful. You choose to be monogamous. You choose that before you get into a marriage. You don't choose that when you get in marriage. You choose that before. You choose that I'm a be a peacemaker before you get confronted to have a and that you're gonna walk away. That's what scripture teaches us, and that's how we are change and have a conviction as opposed to a preference.”

#GuardYourConviction
“How how many of us that's our testimony that that we have resolved that we won't do anything without god because we've learned that every open door is not a god door. And as long as we are with him, he will protect us. Not every opportunity is a blessing. Sometimes the enemy will put a something that looks like a blessing in front of us Just to see if you'll trade your conviction for comfort.”
