"We're going to get to work and we're going to study Matthew chapter 13 because we're here to study Jesus and we're here to study the word of God. So we're going to be in Matthew chapter 13. If you want to use your phone to look that up, I gave you a little note sheet because I'm also a theology teacher. So I love to study. And so if you want to use that, you're welcome to." "And that the, the seed is the, come on, say word of God. The word of God is the seed. And then third, you're the soil. Come on, say I'm the soil. And he says, there's only four reactions people have to the word. So right now I'm preaching. Holy spirit is planting seeds." [00:36:53] (21 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

"Now that's a big deal because pretty much everybody's hand was like, I want to grow. I want to grow. I want to grow. But now we got to do the work of figuring out, man, what kind of soil am I? Because three out of every four of us are never going to grow is what Jesus says." [00:37:49] (14 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

"You have to have some sort, the solution to a hard heart is you gotta break up the hard ground so that the word of God can actually go in. So maybe, maybe you go through a health scare and all of a sudden your hard heart is like, ah, I need help and you like turn to Jesus or maybe your kid's in a stressful situation and so like all of a sudden you're praying like you didn't pray before because your kids are going through stuff or maybe like in addiction, they call it rock bottom." "That you're an addict and you're an addict and you're an addict and you finally get to rock bottom. You're like, I can't live this way anymore. What's going on? Your heart is broken up and all of a sudden you turn to a higher power, tension or transition. You go through divorce, you go through a job loss. I came to Christ at 17 having heard the gospel my entire life but my heart, hard to the things of God." [00:40:11] (23 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

"Now, in that moment, you can do one of two things. You can try to berate somebody into faith or you can just back off and be like, okay, bro. So I just backed off and I said, hey, do you care if I pray for you? He's like, I don't care what you do. You can pray if you want. So I went home that day. I remember getting in the car, I leave the restaurant, I get in the car and I said, Lord, break that man's heart." [00:41:31] (22 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

"Come on, say let's grow. Let's grow. Let's grow. Let's grow. He explains this little story he tells. First, he says the soil that falls on the path. This is Matthew 13 verse 19. He says the seed that fell on the footpath or on the pavement represents those who hear the message about the kingdom and they don't understand it all. It doesn't make any sense to them." "You're an overcomer in Christ. Jesus conquered the grave to give you life and strength so that you can grow through the rocky seasons. Come on, say, I'm an overcomer. You are an overcomer. But so many, they hit stride. And a bunch of you raised your hands. Thank you. They hit a struggle. They hit a problem. It's not fair, God. You don't love me. Nobody ever wind their way to victory." "This is how you grow through hard times that you decide like, I'm in an easy season. Things are going right right now. So I'm going to tell God he's good. I'm going to tell God he's great. I'm going to trust him no matter what. And then when the hard things happen, I'm going to tell God he's good. I'm going to tell God he's great. I'm going to trust him right through it." "Those that desire wealth and live just for money or things. And I talked to the guys about this a couple nights ago at the warrior night. I talked about the fact that my father -in -law taught me it's all going to burn. Come on, say it's all going to burn. You realize that first and second Peter say that this world is going to melt away with a fervent heat." [00:51:48] (20 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

"Guys, you have to show your kids that they are more valuable than stuff. You have to teach people that Jesus is more important than our things. Otherwise, it will choke out their growth and your growth. Come on, say, let's grow. So the solution, honestly, the solution to the weedy life is you've got to apply the weed killer of generosity." "Because God did not give you the Bible for information. He gave it to you for application. He gave you this word so that it would lead to transformation, not just for you to know more stuff. And the only, come on, say only way. The only way you grow is you actually, come on, say, do the stuff. This is how James writes it in James. James one, he says, don't just listen to God's word."
