Day 1: When Faith Becomes Visible Through Action

Faith isn’t a hidden thought but a lived reality that others notice. The way we follow Jesus—praying boldly, serving sacrificially, or risking comfort—reveals God’s presence to those around us. Like a healed woman’s story spreading hope, our actions become testimonies. Faith speaks through choices that defy logic, like praying for strangers or forgiving enemies. When we step into impossible situations, God’s power becomes undeniable. What invisible trust in God could others witness in your daily rhythms? [38:09]

“So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, ‘You have faith and I have works.’ Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” (James 2:17–18, ESV)

Day 2: Trading Worry Lists for Prayer Lists

Praying for difficult people softens hearts; interceding for problems shifts our focus from chaos to Christ’s control. Like Jesus spotting Peter’s leadership potential beneath his impulsiveness, we’re called to perceive people’s God-given identity beyond their current behavior. The enemy isolates us with shame or busyness, but Christ’s body offers accountability and courage. Like Paul’s letters strengthening distant churches, our presence in others’ lives becomes God’s conduit for hope. What excuse have you used to avoid authentic spiritual community? [01:15:14]

Sermon Summary

Paul prays in Ephesians 1 for believers whose faith and love had become visible enough that other people were talking about it. Faith is invisible until somebody follows the invisible God in a way that cannot be explained by their own strength. Love becomes visible through kindness, prayer, hugs, texts, forgiveness, and choosing to overlook faults. God builds on that kind of faith and love because they show that believers are not just saying they trust Him, but are living like children of God.

Paul’s prayer also puts prayer in its right place. Prayer reaches into situations where a person cannot physically go, and it changes the way believers carry people in their hearts. Worry keeps turning the problem over in the mind, while prayer puts the problem before God. The eyes of understanding need to be enlightened because natural eyes see problems, fear, anxiety, storms, and impossibilities. God sees beyond the storm to its calm. God sees beyond the lame man to a man walking. God sees beyond behavior to the heart, whether that heart belongs to a spouse, a child, a lost person, or somebody standing on a corner with a sign. Truth asks two questions: “God, what do You see?” and “What does the truth say?”

The hope of God’s calling stands against feelings that lie. Feelings may say a person is unloved, unaccepted, or finished, but God’s truth says that His children belong to Him and cannot be separated from His love. Temporary feelings cannot be allowed to drive an eternal destiny. God calls believers to pause before reacting, seek His perspective, and choose love over winning.

Community becomes God’s antidote for weak moments, isolation, and hidden struggles. God often brings revelation through other believers, especially when believers sit close enough to be known, prayed for, and challenged. Group life makes room for growth because hiding may feel safe, but hiding also keeps people from the blessing and freedom God wants to release.

You see, the truth, not our feelings, sets us free. Do you know what truth is? Truth is revelation from God. God is truth. So the revelation sets me free from the lie. And so when the lie comes, I don't believe the lie because oftentimes the feelings we we set ourselves up and we create our own insecurity because of our feelings, not because of the truth.”
