#TakeUpYourCross
“what if we what if I said yes to Jesus' invitation to follow him in the way of the cross? What if I took this teaching and actually put it into practice? What if we chose to follow the way of Jesus, to forgive, to chase after humility, to turn the other cheek, to love our enemies? So Jesus' invitation this morning is for us to be a part of his kingdom, to be sons and daughters, and then to follow him, to daily to take up our cross, to deny ourselves and follow this amazing king. He did exactly that for us.”

#SavedByGrace
“Now I wanna be very clear this morning. Jesus is saying, if you deny yourself enough, you'll become a Christian. Nothing we do can save ourselves. We can't save ourselves by taking up our cross. can't save ourselves by serving. We don't save ourselves by praying the right prayer. Salvation, saving, belongs entirely to God. It is the work that he did for us on our behalf on the cross. What we do is we come to Jesus, we repent, and we believe, and then he saves us.”

#TransformedBySpirit
“But the cross is completely different. So the invitation of Jesus is to repent and be saved from sin by the work of Jesus on the cross, and then to live a life different, to live a life following Jesus who went to the cross so that we could follow him in the way of the cross. We don't have to go to the cross. Jesus did that. But we do have to follow him in the way of the cross. And when we walk in the way of the cross, we place ourselves in a position where the power of god, when we're born again, we're made a new creation. The power of the holy spirit in us gives us the power in order to walk in that way.”
