#IdentityQuestions
“None of the answers to who we are are found by simple cosmic coincidence. I like to frequently talk about the three most basic questions of life. They are the questions of identity. Who am I? Why am I here? And where am I going? And you can have the telescope and you can have the microscope and you can see far and you can see close, but it will not explain to you those most basic questions.”

#SeekAnswersInGod
“But you can do all those measurements from as far away as you can view to as close as you can see, And you can do all of that and still miss the most basic things about life as we live it. Have we no curiosity? Oh, we do have lots of curiosity. But where do we look for the answers? Does any of it adequately answer the issues of our reality, of our existence, and the reality of the god who sees us and acknowledges that we are his, who claims me and claims you and knows me and knows you.”

#MoreThanPrayerLists
“What Paul doesn't pray for are often what we pray for the most, which is we often come to God with our shopping list of needs. It's kinda like, give me, give me, give me. There is nothing wrong with going to God with the desires of our heart. There's nothing wrong with us longing for these things on our list of prayer concerns. But the most important thing is for us to acknowledge the greatness and goodness of God that covers all of the needs of our life, including the crisis moments. It is our knowledge of God, is there a hope, it is the divine power. Those are the things that set us apart in all the details of our daily story. We have our hopes, we have our fears, we have our needs. But god is there in all of that when we pray for it.”

#ResurrectionPower
“The hope and the power. And that power is found in verse 19 and in verse 20. The power is the resurrection power. How strong is god? Well, enough to put all the stars in the right spot and the moon just to be 400 times right there. He's that powerful. He's that strong. He's that wise. But he also knows us and he knows how we ought to be praying and what we need.”
