#RedemptiveSuffering
“``There's a redemptive value in suffering. It's not pointless. We might think of it as pointless. We look for Tylenol. We look for painkillers. It's not pointless. It isn't something we just have the bad luck that, well, we gotta deal with it. God tells us and he tells us in chapter one in James that the point of suffering and pain is that through these trials and testings of our faith, this actually grows us closer to him.”

#ChurchCommunitySupport
“This is true. We were not made to go through this journey of life alone. God has blessed us with the church as a resource, not just to advance his kingdom, which it does, not just to proclaim his wisdom before the the devil himself, which it does, but so that you and I may feel supported and enjoy the fellowship of other believers, their support, and the blessing of being able to bless one another.”

#LetPeopleIn
“If you haven't let people in to let them know what you need, let them in. If you haven't invested the time and energy into others, invest the time and energy in others. And just wait. It's like I said, give it six months and see how you feel in six months' time. Complaining about it is not gonna solve anything. Impatiently demanding a solution isn't gonna fix it. Avoiding conflict won't even do it, but investing in each other will. That is what it says here. Praying for each other will.”

#SmallActsBigImpact
“You may not realize this, but the number of people who are even just part of our church community who would appreciate a card or a phone call or a plate of cookies or even a visit, even the most minuscule minor, you might think it is completely insignificant. But to that person receiving that thing, just as a reminder that somebody else cares about them, makes all the difference. And there are few of us who are either so busy or so sick that we can't even do one of those things. Just the slightest of gestures, just the smallest of pouring back in has a tremendous impact on those who may be suffering.”
