48s
“Christian contentment means I can be satisfied because God is my portion. I can be content even other words, contentment is the ability to live independent of your surrounding circumstances. In other words, my surrounding circumstances has nothing to do with my mood, with my relationship with God, with the posture of my heart. Outward circumstances don't affect my interior life. I'm still able to have joy and peace regardless of what my circumstances are. And that's what Paul is describing here.”
39s
“Whatever I'm going through is not gonna steal my joy because guess what? Having the perfect marriage is not the source of my happiness. Having the perfect little children is not the source of my happiness. Not be being physically healthy and being able to do whatever I wanna do is not the source of my happiness. Those things are nice, they make life a little more pleasant, but that's not the source of my joy. My joy comes from the Lord.”
36s
“And so he says, I don't even care about the money. I'm I'm I praise God that you're gonna be blessed for thinking about me. Verse 18, I have received full payment and more. In other words, I received the gift from you all and more than what I need. I am well supplied having received from Epaphroditis the gifts you sent. And look at this, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. In other words, your giving to me is an act of worship.”
