#MadeWorthyInChrist
“```Yes. We are unworthy, but you are not worth less. We are unworthy of God's love, yet God in his love and mercy did what? Sent his one and only son, Jesus Christ. We don't climb up to God and show our value and worth to him. We were unworthy, yet God descended to us to take upon himself our our sin, our shame, our sickness, so that we might have salvation. That is the gift that has been given to you. as we look at the Lord's Supper then, we don't make ourselves holy, yet the holy God becomes like us, so that when he sees us through the blood stained hands of Jesus, you have been made clean. You are a saint. You are worthy.”

#ReceiveByGrace
“Proper recognition to receive this meal is a recognition that we are unworthy, but don't hear me say this. Yes. That is the gift that has been given to you.”

#GraceNotOurPurity
“What do I do if the person giving me these elements of not only bread and wine, but Christ's body and blood, what do I do if they had a moral failure? What do I do if they had a fall from the faith that I actually receive God's gift of grace? And the answer is yes, you did because the validity of the sacrament is not based on my purity or any other person's purity that is giving you this gift, but it is based on the power of God's word. And what does God's word say? This is my body and blood shed for you for the forgiveness of sins. You can be sure and certain in this promise that you have received the gift of God's grace because it's not based on my perfection or the perfection of any other person giving you these elements, but it is based upon Christ's perfection given to you.”

#RemembranceAndRepentance
“Paul recognizes that people can receive this gift of God's grace in an unworthy manner. Now, he doesn't say it, but the fact that he suggests that people can receive it in an unworthy manner. So how do we receive this gift in a worthy way? Receiving this meal in an unworthy manner is not about your perfection. Let me repeat that again. Receiving this meal in an unworthy manner is not about your perfection. It's not about having your act all together before you can come to the table. That's not what the apostle Paul is saying. Receiving this meal in an unworthy manner is not about your perfection. It is about remembrance and repentance.”
