#GraceBreaksCycles
“``Retaliation keeps the cycle going, but grace breaks it. And that's why this topic of loving your enemy is so important even though it's so difficult. We have to first start by asking the question, who is my enemy? And for most of us, particularly here in DC, we immediately go to our political enemy. Right? That's just like honestly the easiest thing to do. Right? So that every time, you know, you hear about this person that you're just immediately turned off, you have this feeling of disgust.”

#ForgivenessStartsWithYou
“``Reconciliation takes two, but forgiveness only takes one. so God may be calling you to forgive them and pray for them so that that does not have to go with you into this next season of your life. But reconciliation takes two. And if somebody else is not willing to own their sin and repent of it, you being in that relationship could be counterproductive for your own spiritual and emotional health.”

#BoundariesNotCancellation
“``Like all the lies, it mixes truth with a lie. The truth is you must have healthy boundaries with your enemies. Right? The the fact that you've gone no contact with someone means something's wrong. Like, there's something wrong in a relationship. You can't go forward the same way. It's not healthy for you if you if you said that. But but the lie is that they must be canceled. And this lie is entirely inconsistent with scripture, but it's one that thrives today in our political context where we're taught to polarize in order to mobilize, to get votes, to get attention.”

#SupernaturalLove
“``Now church, the reality is that to truly love your enemies, like to truly love them, to truly pray for them, to truly move towards them, not away from them, like it's not humanly possible. that's like sort of the point of all of Jesus' teaching, that you you can't do them in and of yourself. It requires more than human effort. It's not like, oh, pastor said I should love my enemies. Main point number one, try harder. Like that if that would've worked, you would be we would be killing it right now. We would be doing it great. Right?”
