#JesusSufferedSoWeDont
“Jesus died on the cross alone. Everybody abandoned him. All of his closest followers, many of you know that part of the story, they jumped ship when Jesus got arrested. They were out. Peter's, like, calling down curses on himself to try to prove to people that he never even met Jesus. Right? Jesus suffered alone so that we don't have to. I was not living the life that Jesus died for me to have when I was suffering in silence and suffering alone.”

#MiracleOfUnity
“Like, the outside world is supposed to look inside at the church and go, I don't get it. How? How did you get that group of people caring about each other and loving one another? They don't look like each other. They're not from the same places. They're not from the same neighborhoods. They're not from the same socioeconomic status. They they don't have the same education. They don't have the same skin color. They don't have the same whatever. How? They didn't even all vote the same. Oh, my word. How? How did you get those people loving each other and caring for each other and serving each other? We are supposed to literally be a miracle to the outside world.”

#CarryWithTheSpirit
“Right? He doesn't say that it's the Holy Spirit's job to carry our burdens. Whose job is it to carry each other's burdens? It's our job. Now that doesn't mean that the Holy Spirit's not involved. Paul just got done talking about how involved the Holy Spirit is. Right? We can't even do this without the Holy Spirit. But the Holy Spirit is in us, producing his fruit in us. And when he's doing that, we become people who carry one another's burdens, which means that when we're doing that, when we're living life in community with each other as followers of Jesus, it means that we're actually working in tandem with the Holy Spirit. We're working side by side doing spirit work with the Holy Spirit.”
