God is rich in mercy and desires to pour out His love and kindness on us, not because of anything we have done, but because of His grace. Through Jesus Christ, we are offered salvation, the washing of rebirth, and the renewal of the Holy Spirit. This is not a one-time event but an ongoing reality—God’s love and mercy are available to you today, inviting you to walk in the fullness of His presence and to embrace the new life He offers. You are not alone; God is with you, longing for you to receive and experience more of who He is each day. [01:46]
Titus 3:4-7 (ESV) "But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life."
Reflection: In what area of your life do you need to receive God’s mercy afresh today, trusting that His love is not based on your performance but on His grace?
Day 2: Clothe Yourself with the New Self
Every day, you have the opportunity to put on the new self that God has created in you—one that is made in true righteousness and holiness. This is more than just positive thinking or outward appearance; it is a deliberate, daily choice to embrace your identity as a new creation in Christ. As you put on the new self, your attitude and mindset are transformed, enabling you to live out God’s purposes and reflect His character in every situation you face. [24:12]
Ephesians 4:23-24 (ESV) "And to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness."
Reflection: What is one old attitude or habit you need to “put off” today so you can intentionally “put on” the new self God has given you?
Day 3: Put On the Armor of Light
As followers of Jesus, we are called to put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. This spiritual armor is our defense and our readiness for the challenges of each day. Light always dispels darkness, and when you arm yourself with God’s light, you become a beacon in a world that desperately needs hope and truth. Your presence, filled with the light of Christ, can bring transformation to your home, workplace, and community. [25:47]
Romans 13:12 (ESV) "The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light."
Reflection: Where do you sense darkness trying to creep into your life or environment, and how can you intentionally bring God’s light into that space today?
Day 4: Clothe Yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ
To clothe yourself with Jesus is to immerse yourself in His life, character, and teachings. This means letting His compassion, peace, and righteousness shape your actions and attitudes. The more you know Jesus, the more you reflect Him to the world around you. Abiding in Him brings an abundance of joy, peace, and righteousness, even in difficult circumstances. Make it your aim to walk closely with Jesus, letting His presence be evident in all you do. [27:17]
Romans 13:14 (ESV) "But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires."
Reflection: What is one practical way you can intentionally “put on” Christ today—whether in your thoughts, words, or actions?
Day 5: Put On Love, Which Binds All Together
Love is the virtue that binds all others together in perfect unity. True love is not self-seeking but seeks the benefit of others, reflecting the very heart of Christ. When you choose to put on love, you move beyond self-interest and become a blessing to those around you. This love is active, outward-focused, and transformative, bringing unity and wholeness to your relationships and community. Let love be the defining mark of your life as you represent Jesus to the world. [30:41]
Colossians 3:14 (ESV) "And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony."
Reflection: Who is one person you can intentionally show Christ-like love to today, seeking their good above your own?
Sermon Summary
Every week brings its own set of challenges and joys, but through it all, God’s mercy remains constant and abundant. God’s love, demonstrated through Jesus Christ, is not a one-time event but an ongoing reality that continues to reach out to us today. We are invited to receive and walk in this mercy, to experience the fullness of God’s presence, and to remember that we are never alone. The Holy Spirit, poured out generously on all believers, is the greatest gift we could ever receive, empowering us to live transformed lives.
The question arises: What are we wearing each day—not just physically, but spiritually? Our attitudes, thoughts, and the condition of our hearts are the true garments we carry into every situation. Negativity, anxiety, or even a positivity that lacks Christ can become the “clothes” we wear, affecting not only ourselves but everyone we encounter. Unlike material possessions or external circumstances, our inner life travels with us everywhere. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to intentionally clothe ourselves with the things of God—peace, joy, righteousness, and love.
As followers of Jesus, we are called to represent Him in the world. This means preparing ourselves daily, not just for our own sake, but as ambassadors of Christ. Our spiritual clothing—our mindset and heart posture—determines how we experience God’s favor, how we see Him at work, and how we receive from Him. Just as we wouldn’t show up to an important event in inappropriate attire, we must be mindful of what we are putting on spiritually, so we are ready for the opportunities God brings our way.
Scripture encourages us to “put on” the new self, the armor of light, the Lord Jesus Christ, and above all, love. These are not just abstract concepts but practical realities that shape our daily lives. Putting on the new self means embracing our identity as new creations in Christ. The armor of light protects us and enables us to stand against darkness. Clothing ourselves with Jesus means immersing ourselves in His character and ways, and putting on love binds all virtues together in perfect unity. This is not about religious performance or tradition, but about genuine transformation and growth, so that our lives increasingly reflect the heart of Christ to the world.
Key Takeaways
1. God’s mercy and love are not limited to a moment in history but are continually available to us. Embracing this truth means living each day with the assurance that God is for us, with us, and actively working in our lives, regardless of our circumstances. This ongoing mercy invites us to walk in freedom and confidence, knowing we are deeply loved and never alone. [00:23]
2. The spiritual “clothes” we wear—our attitudes, thoughts, and heart condition—are far more significant than anything external. What we carry internally shapes our experiences, relationships, and the opportunities we encounter. Intentionally clothing ourselves with the things of God positions us to walk in His favor and peace, impacting not only our own lives but also those around us. [05:54]
3. Growth in Christ is not automatic or instant; it requires intentionality and practice. Just as learning to catch a ball or play an instrument takes time and repetition, so does developing spiritual maturity. Regularly affirming God’s truth over our lives and practicing faith prepares us to receive what God wants to give, ensuring we are not stagnant but continually growing in Him. [19:09]
4. Putting on Christ means immersing ourselves in His character, studying His life, and allowing His ways to shape our own. This is more than outward conformity; it is about abiding in Him so that joy, peace, and righteousness become the natural outflow of our lives. When we clothe ourselves with Jesus, we become true representatives of His kingdom, marked by a supernatural joy and peace that transcends circumstances. [27:34]
5. Love is the ultimate garment that binds all virtues together. True love is not self-seeking but seeks the benefit of others, reflecting the very heart of Christ. When we put on love, our focus shifts from ourselves to those around us, and our lives become a channel of God’s blessing and encouragement to the world. This is the essence of Christian maturity and the mark of genuine transformation. [31:17]
Titus 3:4-7 — "But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life."
- Ephesians 4:22-24 "You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."
- Colossians 3:12-14 "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity."

Sermon Clips
God is rich in mercy. And because he's rich in mercy, he desires and he longs to pour out his mercy on us and for you to receive it and to walk in it and to embrace it and experience who he is and and that God did all that he could to win humanity back through the person of Jesus Christ. [00:26:57]
You got natural clothes, but the most important thing is your spiritual clothes. your attitude, your thinking, the things that you are contemplating inside your heart, the things that you are walking in on a daily basis, whether that be negativity. [00:165:02]
And so if you got things on the inside of your heart that are are traveling on on your life on a daily basis, you have to ask yourself, how's it working for you? You know, we've all got things in our home. [00:284:48]
The only thing that travels with you is you. And the only person that travels with you is God. And so there is a higher value in what you're wearing internally than what you are wearing externally. How you dress the day goes with you the whole day. [00:344:03]
But anxiety, frustration, pain walks with us every single moment of the day. So, we've got to learn to have an adjustment and have a look at what are we wearing in life and are we are we carrying the stuff of the kingdom because that's where God's favor and that's where God's blessing really is and that's where peace is and that's what we're all desiring most of all. [00:372:57]
If you profess to be a Christian, then you are Christ's representative on earth according to the go the the book of John. It tells us that we have to walk in a certain way and to live a certain way. Therefore, you got to have the right clothing on. [00:423:16]
You can come to church and you can go through the motions. You can go through, you know, just singing a song, hands in pocket, not really engaging. I couldn't do church like that personally. I I couldn't just go to a a building and sing a few songs with my hands in my pocket, not really engaged week in week out. [00:454:00]
That decision changed my life for eternity, you know, and and my love for Christ, my desire to know him has contined grow. It's not diminished. I don't go to church for friendship. Friendship is a byproduct of church. I go to church because of Jesus and my revelation of him, my understanding of what he's done for my life. [00:583:21]
There are things facing us every day that you have a choice to make. And how do you choose from the good? So good is good, right? But how do you choose from good to great? How do you how do you choose that choice over that choice when that choice is good and that choice is good? [00:656:12]
And so today you're going to have a thousand or probably in the reason 30 to 50,000 thoughts today that you're going to get to spend. God has been generous with his creation toward us allowing you to think. You're going to get to spend all these. How you spend them is going to create the outcomes of our life. [00:739:48]
If God has loaded a day with possibility and loaded a day with you walking in these things, but you somehow have got the wrong attitude, the wrong mindset. Don't think as Jesus would want you to think. Is that opportunity going to come your way? I would suggest to you that God doesn't cast his spells amongst swine. [00:858:28]
Some of us got saved and we still look at things like that we did before we were saved. But over time those things began to change and we now look at those things with a pure heart and not a worldly heart. And now you can begin to see God because you see God is pure. God is holy. [00:986:09]
One thing I am passionate about is not being the same after a 12-month period. I want to be growing. I want to be bigger in faith. I want to be more loving. I want to be kinder. I want to be more like Jesus. I want to achieve some things. But I do not want to be the same. [00:1274:38]
So the Bible calls uses a language of clothing and put on to help us to understand what he's really saying. Right? And so I'm going to give you a few verses uh this morning what to put on just a few of them and then I would encourage you start to put them on. [00:1322:04]
Christians ought to be going that. How you doing today? I'm brand new. But you're not saying brand new is in I'm awesome. That's a different statement. I'm brand new because I'm brand new. I'm a Christian that's got my sins forgiven and his spirit is now in me and now I've got something to live for and something to go for. [00:1486:19]
Love is the desire of the thing for the benefit of others. Love is the desire of a thing for the benefit of others. So when you put on love, it's not about woohoo, come to me. No, no. You're going outward. How do I be a blessing? How do I help somebody? How do I encourage? [00:1896:19]
