The Psalmist calls us to behold something truly marvelous and rare. This unity among God’s people is not a common occurrence in a world filled with division. It is a special work of God’s Spirit, a beautiful testimony to His grace. It is both good and pleasant, a source of joy and strength for all who experience it. This spiritual harmony is a glimpse of heaven on earth. [01:06:14]
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! (Psalm 133:1, KJV)
Reflection: As you consider your relationships within the church family, where have you recently experienced the refreshing and good feeling of true unity? What do you think made that moment of harmony possible?
Biblical unity is depicted as a sacred anointing oil, set apart for holy purposes. This oil was fragrant and abundant, flowing down to consecrate and bless everything it touched. In the same way, the unity of the Spirit is a holy thing that sanctifies God’s people. It is not meant to be contained but to flow out, bringing blessing and grace to everyone in the community. This fragrant unity points others to Christ. [01:10:00]
It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; (Psalm 133:2, KJV)
Reflection: In what practical ways can the unity within our church family become a blessing that flows out to touch and positively impact those outside our church walls?
Unity is also pictured as the dew of Hermon, bringing essential refreshment and life. Dew represents God’s gentle, faithful provision and blessing. The Scripture is clear that God has commanded His blessing—life forevermore—where His people dwell together in unity. This is not a minor benefit but a profound spiritual principle. God’s presence and favor are uniquely manifested in a united body. [01:11:43]
As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. (Psalm 133:3, KJV)
Reflection: When have you felt personally refreshed and renewed simply by being in the midst of a united body of believers? How did that experience reveal God’s blessing to you?
In God’s family, every single person holds immense value and purpose. The world may overlook the quiet or seemingly small contributions, but Scripture teaches that the most indispensable members are often those who appear weakest. There is no one in the church family whose presence and service are unimportant to God. He has sovereignly placed each person in the body for a specific and crucial reason. [01:13:58]
And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. (1 Corinthians 12:23, KJV)
Reflection: Is there an area where you have been tempted to believe your role in the church is insignificant? How does the truth that God sees and values every member change your perspective?
The local church is a profound gift, made possible solely by the grace of Jesus Christ and His work on the cross. It is a place where we can experience God’s love through His people, finding comfort, encouragement, and fellowship. Our response to this incredible gift should be one of heartfelt thanksgiving. We are honored to be part of what God is building, a hospital for the hurting and a family for the faithful. [01:15:20]
Thank you, Lord, that we can come to a place and be loved by your people, not just be loved by the love they have in themselves, but be loved by your love, to to know your love through them. [01:15:48]
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. (Colossians 3:15, KJV)
Reflection: What is one specific aspect of our church family for which you are most thankful to God today, and how can you express that gratitude to Him?
The church moved through announcements, thanksgiving, and worship with a steady focus on God’s presence among his people. Plans for a refreshed website and new photos aimed to present the congregation well to the community, while upcoming events—lunch and gifts for families, Faith Bible Institute graduation, choir and study nights, outreach Sundays, a hymn sing, and anniversary celebrations—anchored practical life together. Testimonies and reports highlighted acts of service in the neighborhood, emphasizing that love expressed through practical help opens doors for the gospel.
Psalm 84 was read and framed the gathering: God dwells with his people so that coming into his courts matters more than any earthly comfort. That conviction shaped prayers of gratitude and songs about value and grace. The assembly celebrated the church as a place where the sparrow finds a home, where doorkeeper service is preferred over worldly tents, and where God’s grace supplies strength from one stage of life to the next.
Psalm 133 provided the central theological point: unity among believers is both holy oil and refreshing dew. Unity functions like sacred anointing, consecrating ministry and flowing down to bless every part of the body; it also functions like dew, bringing life and refreshment to the community. This unity does not mean uniformity of opinion or flawless people, but a common devotion to Christ that produces hospitality, mutual care, and perseverance through seasons of hardship and misunderstanding.
Practical encouragement returned repeatedly: serve locally, make space for hurting people, and offer steady presence even when progress feels small. The congregation received reminders that every role matters, that God rewards faithful service, and that the church’s witness depends on visible love. The service closed with prayers of gratitude, a call to keep offering care and testimony, and an invitation to fellowship and further outreach, trusting God’s grace to sustain the work.
Lord, we come and we say thank you. Thank you that there was there is not one soul that is not valuable enough that Jesus didn't come to die and pay for their sin. Lord, to offer them an opportunity to be made right with you. There's not one soul who has sinned so greatly that they can't know your grace and your mercy. Thank you that, Lord, that we stand here today as a church, and we just say thank you. We rejoice in you. Everything we have here, you did.

And, Lord, we want no glory. We want no glory. And we come and even today, while we don't wear physical crowns, Lord, we take and we cast everything at the feet of our savior, Jesus Christ. He is worthy. You are worthy. And Lord, thank you for saving us. Thank you for Jesus. And I thank you for our time together this morning. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen. You can be seated.

Pastor Rob's gonna come here in a second, and we're gonna do something a little different. We we've had testimonies during our worship in the morning, but we've I thought it was important that the church has an opportunity. And and I've asked it not be a testimony about the pastoral team. You're very gracious and so often that we hear so much encouraging things via text or testimony. But I really wanted if the lord would lay it upon your heart and as god leads you to just give a testimony either about how the church, Faith Baptist Church as a church

has helped and the lord has used it or maybe how god has used a an individual in our church or individuals, a group of individuals. I I know in a church our size, I don't know that everybody will be given a testimony about. I I hope that you'll not take that in any other way, but just be here to say, lord, thank you. It's not about me. It's not about them. Ultimately, it's about who? The Lord. And and so I I know from my bottom of my heart, I thank God for you. I'm thankful to be your pastor.

And walking together in discipleship. And many of you have the same. I have the same story about you. Remember the Dysons when they were going through, and they went through a really hard time. And they were if you don't mind me saying it, out of church for a little while. And I remember he was so frustrated. Lord's like, you just need to give this to me. Just be their friend. I learned something that day that I can't control it, but he's in control.

I've had brother Greg do that. I appreciate you on Wednesday. Brother Greg was, like, sick, and he's like, all he could be concerned was is causing me more stress because he's sick, and I have to teach. I'm like, you're sick, but I appreciate that spirit. And many of you have done the same thing. Adam's showing up and some others do too, but I showing up every Sunday at Snohomish. Thank you. Starting a church is one of the hardest things outside of raising adult kids.

But starting a church is very difficult, but it's made that much easier when brothers and sisters in Christ, and some of you were here when this church started, are there every Sunday. Even when people don't show up, even when they're disappointed. And I just wanna say thank you. Go to Psalm one thirty three. I told you I was gonna be short.
