#BlessingsInChrist
“All of the blessings that come to us from god in the gospel are ours because they are in Christ. So, when we have Christ, we have all that he is. This can also be said another way. God gives us nothing apart from Christ. As long as Christ remains outside of us, then all that he suffered and all that he accomplished for the salvation of the human race remains of no benefit to us.”

#BelongingInChrist
“Imagine an ordinary woman marrying the king's son. On their wedding day, she doesn't simply receive a palace, a a royal name, an inheritance, or a seat at the king's table. She receives her husband. And because she receives her husband, everything that belongs to him is now shared with her. His family becomes her family. His home becomes her home. His future becomes her future. And she's elevated to a high position because of her union with him. She doesn't receive the gifts apart from that relationship. The gifts flow from the union. So, back to Ephesians, god doesn't just hand us forgiveness or adoption and eternal life while Christ remains at a distance. God joins us to his son and because we belong to him, everything that is in him becomes our treasure.”

#CalledByGodsPurpose
“Our calling is measured by god's purpose, not our imagination. It's his love and his ability, not our size or influence. It's not our budget. It's not our human qualifications. It's not our small dreams. It's god's eternal purpose in Christ. So, the question isn't, are we strong enough? It's is god powerful enough? When the church sees the hope of her calling, when the church treasures the people that god has entrusted to her and trusts in the immeasurable power of the risen king, then she can start to dream like god wants her to.”

#CosmicRedemption
“Sin has fractured god's good creation. Humanity is divided against itself. Nations are living in fear of false gods. People are separated from god and even creation itself groans under the effects of the fall. But god's purpose in Christ doesn't stop with giving individuals fire insurance. God's purpose is to restore and order all things under the rightful rule of his son. Notice the text says, things in heaven and things on earth. God's purpose is beyond this this Earth. It's cosmic. It's it takes in the whole creation, the physical, and the spiritual. Nothing lies outside of the reach of Christ's reign. And this, this is the story we were brought into when we became united to Christ by faith. We weren't saved to escape the world. We're saved to participate in in this bringing together work of god that grace makes possible.”
