Christ's Victory: Hope Amidst Darkness and Evil
Summary
In the grand tapestry of time, there is a comforting truth: time is in the hands of God. He began it, controls it, and will bring it to its destined conclusion. This divine orchestration is independent of human actions, the devil, and all principalities and powers. Despite the darkness that may surround us, God's plan is unthwarted. At the heart of this plan is the coming of Christ, who entered the world to confront the devil and his forces. Humanity, born into the kingdom of Satan, is enslaved by sin and darkness. Yet, Christ's mission was to liberate us from this bondage, as He is stronger than the strongman, the devil.
Christ's life, death, and resurrection are a testament to His victory over evil. He came to destroy the works of the devil, as stated in 1 John 3:8. This is the essence of the Gospel and the meaning of Advent: the Son of God was manifested to deliver us from the devil's grip. The angelic activity surrounding His birth underscores the significance of this event. Angels announced His coming, celebrated His birth, and ministered to Him in times of need, such as in the Garden of Gethsemane and at His resurrection.
The devil, aware of Christ's mission, launched attacks from the beginning, attempting to thwart God's plan through Herod's massacre, the temptation in the wilderness, and the opposition from religious leaders. Yet, Christ triumphed over these challenges, culminating in His victory on the cross. There, He disarmed the principalities and powers, making a public spectacle of them. His resurrection further demonstrated His power over death, the last enemy.
The result of this cosmic battle is the defeat of the devil and the establishment of Christ's kingdom, now open to all, Jew and Gentile alike. The Holy Spirit, poured out at Pentecost, empowers believers to live victoriously. As we await the final consummation, we are assured of Christ's ultimate triumph, where all evil will be vanquished, and a new heaven and earth will emerge. This is the Advent hope: the victory of the second Adam, who has redeemed His people and will reign eternally.

The fight is on. You don't understand the records if you don't believe in the devil and the principalities and Powers. They knew who he was.
