The world around us is broken, and the signs of Christ’s soon return are everywhere. Yet, the solution to the world’s pain and confusion is not found in politics or human systems, but in the person and work of Jesus Christ. God has given His church the privilege and responsibility of sharing the everlasting gospel with every nation, tribe, tongue, and people. The timing of Christ’s return is not determined by the increasing wickedness of the world, but by the completion of this gospel commission. If we truly long for Jesus to come, we must be serious about taking His message of hope and healing to those around us.
Looking at the ministry of Jesus, we see a powerful model for how to reach a hurting world. Christ’s method was not just preaching and teaching, but also healing—ministering to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of people. In fact, the gospels reveal that Jesus spent three times as much effort healing as He did teaching or preaching. This holistic approach broke down barriers and opened hearts to the message of salvation. The early church followed this same pattern, empowered by Christ to heal and restore, and God calls us to do likewise.
Healing, however, is not merely a miraculous event; it is the continual work of God’s grace in our lives. Every breath, every recovery from illness, every step toward health is a gift from God. Even when someone makes positive lifestyle changes, it is ultimately God who brings healing, whether or not that person recognizes Him. Our works—whether in health or in faith—do not save or heal us; it is always the grace and power of God. Yet, we are called to cooperate with Him, bringing our lives into harmony with His will, not to earn His favor, but to experience the fullness of His healing and restoration.
Stories of transformation—like those of individuals freed from disease, pain, and even deep emotional wounds—testify to the ongoing power of Christ to heal. These miracles, both great and small, are evidence that God is still at work, inviting us to be conduits of His love and grace. The vision for our church is to become a center of healing for our community, where every member is an agent of God’s restoration. As we experience Christ’s healing ourselves, we are called to share it, pointing others to the ultimate healing that will come when Jesus returns and wipes away every tear.
