#SentToServe
“``And here's the reality. The church is not merely a place that people are meant to come to. The church is a people that God sends out. We God is a sending God, and he's still sending us today. And so does the gathering matter? Absolutely, it does. Right? We gather to encounter God. We gather to be filled with the holy spirit. We gather to be formed into the image of Jesus and to encourage one another, but then we are sent back out into the world as a redemptive presence. So I wanna applaud that you're here today, but can I tell you what's best is that you're here, and then when you leave here, you're going to these spaces and asking the holy spirit, how can I be a redemptive presence in every space that I occupy today?”

“Which means this church, that you are not just saved from something, but you are saved for something. And we gotta begin to ask ourselves what that is. It also means this, the gospel is not just a means of escape, but the gospel is a means to engage. It is not your ticket out of here and your ticket to heaven. It is what empowers you and enables you to engage the world around you. So what do we see? That the gospel is about the transformation of souls, but it's also about the transformation of society through restoration and renewal. And and can I make the argument today that if if our churches are professing and embodying a gospel that does not bring tangible healing and tangible hope to its surrounding community, can we agree today that that's not the that's not the whole gospel?”

“And this is fundamentally what it means to follow Jesus. Right? Not that just you not that you are just saved from something, but you have been sent into something church. You have been sent into your neighborhood that you live in. Right? You thought it was just like, I got a nice little cul de sac or I like my little row house or my apartment. No. No. God sent you there on assignment. Do you understand what I'm saying today? You have been sent to your workplace. You have been sent to your school, to your apartment building, your relationships, and you have ultimately been sent to this city.”

#SeeWhatGodSees
“Can I give you a prayer to pray every day? It's a two part prayer and it goes like this. Lord, let my eyes see what you see, and Lord, break my heart for the things that break yours. God, wanna see what you see which that's a dangerous prayer because God sees it all. I want I want you to break my heart for the things that break yours. When was the last time you asked God to break your heart? When was the last time when we asked you that you asked God to give you a holy burden? We got way too many Christians that are saying, Lord, I need peace. Will you take weight off? We need some Christians to say, Lord, I'm too light. I need you to add some weight. I need a holy burden in Jesus name.”
