#WeNeedABetterHuman
“That's what's going on. So the issue wasn't the law, it was the people. And the problem is that humanity is enslaved to sin, then the solution can't just be another set of rules. We don't need better instructions. We need, ready for this? You may have never heard this before. We did not need better instructions. We need a better human. We need a better human. And we also need a way to be set free from the bondage of sin that we put ourselves And that is where Jesus comes into all of this. We need a better human and we need someone that can free us from the bondage of sin. Enter Jesus of Nazareth as the answer to both of those problems.”

#HeartOverRules
“See, the law could inform us of what God wanted us to do, but it could not transform you into people that actually wanted to do what God wanted you to do. Does that make sense? Like for instance, because in the New Testament, Jesus is always far more concerned with the condition of your heart than actually the actions that flow out. He says, if you get the heart right, the actions actually flow out of it. But if you simply just try to make the actions right but your heart's wicked, eventually you'll go off course anyways. Think of it like this. They have a law in this country that you're not allowed to strangle people. Right? You're not allowed to put your hands around other people's throats. Now, has that law one time ever made you not want to do that? Of course not. We've all wanted to strangle somebody, probably this week. It's because law informs, but law does not transform.”

#GodsStoryNotYours
“You ever read like the Good Samaritan? You're like, oh, I must I must be Jesus. So I've I've gotta go be not No, no, no. You're the fool that's in the ditch. Beat up, broken, busted up, and in need of someone else to come along and pull you out of the ditch. The Bible is not primarily about you. So that's not That's what it's not. So what is the Bible? The Bible is this. The Bible is God's self revelation through his activity in history ultimately revealed in Jesus. So the point of the Bible is that you would get to know God. The Bible from beginning to end is all about God. is his story of how he has worked all throughout human history, and it all culminates in the revelation of Jesus of Nazareth as God incarnate.”
