“So, John says, don't fall into that trap of saying you love Jesus and others in speech only. That's a trap. You're not really experiencing agape love here. He's saying, don't don't don't miss this. He says, he says, let love become an action word in your life. Let love become an action word in your life. That's what real love is gonna look like in your life. It's gonna, it's gonna actually take shape and form in your life. You're gonna you're gonna love people maybe prior to that you would've thought, man, there's no way I can care for that type of person or show love or kindness or care for that that person. But it's gonna happen because that's agape love that's making you new, and you're able to love in ways you'd never thought possible before.”

“Agape is at the base. It's the foundation for all these other types of loves. And those other ones are they're good gifts from God. They're not they're not wrong loves, but they can become something destructive if they're turned into a false god. And and if somebody treats them as substitutes for this agape love, living in and out of this agape love. So, if somebody puts one of these other loves in front of or makes it more important than living and experiencing this agape love, it can throw these others all out of whack and they're out of order. And that's what Lewis' point really is, is that there's an order to love. If this agape love isn't at the foundation of all your other relationships and love, then it can throw them out of order and out of whack.”

“Foundationally, your hearts were given that you would connect to his heart. That you would know you're living in him and he's living in you, John's saying. That you're living in and out of this agape love. That's what our hearts were made exactly for, to assure us that the love of Jesus is alive in us, that He's moving in our lives. This is the answer to the song's question. If you're still wondering what good is a heart? This is what the heart is good for, knowing the love of Jesus that we live in him and he lives in us. This assures us that that love is more than just mere words. That our love is that agape type of love that doesn't just speak but does.”
