#DivinePartnership
“``Some of you are like, why is that a good thing? Because the upside of this is this, that God in us is not thoughtless mind control. I know for a lot of us who have been stuck in a kind of life we wish that we could break out of, we're like, just god. Jesus, we just take over and do everything. I don't wanna think about it from it. Just get me through this moment, and then I'll recover my own kind of participation and everything, but I don't want that. Just take over. And yet the picture that you get is that God in us is not a hostile takeover. It's not a possession. It's an empowered kind of partnership and participation. That's really good. God's intention was never to turn you into a robot, an automaton, to use some of the language you might have heard before. There's a big difference between an empowered partnership and a hostile possession.”

#IdentityByGrace
“To take a step back, all this is saying is you and I don't make we don't our participation in this kind of life doesn't make our identity true. It just reinforces what's already true. What's being said here is God has done a thing in Jesus, which is the forgiveness of sins. All of that stuff that we're like, I wonder if I'm good enough. It's like Jesus is like, well, you kinda need some help here, some big help. You weren't gonna be to do this on your own. I rescued you from that. But it's so easy to forget if there aren't the ongoing newer way new habits that we build that reinforce that reality or we'll forget because we do all the time. These new patterns don't create it, but they reinforce what's already true.”

#CultivateTheSpirit
“So the Holy Spirit, Christ in me, that mystery, he he can he can be resisted and ignored, but he also can be cultivated and heard and encouraged by new patterns that make what's already true more apparent to us so we live out of that reality. You see, what we have to start thinking about if we really want this if we want the kind of life god wants for us, we have to at least start thinking about the fact that maybe we ought to replace our old patterns with new patterns that match the new life and the new self Jesus intends for us to have.”

#ChristInYou
“So the whole story of God keeps moving towards this place. The the Bible has this promise where God keeps saying, I'm gonna make my home among you and dwell among you all the time. And then it gets all the way to the point where it's like, I'm gonna dwell in your heart and change your heart. And then it says, Christ in you, this great mystery, which means somehow Jesus in me is what you and I were made for. It's like that's the thing we were that's the thing that's that transcendent familiarity. Jesus so distant and so close at the same time.”
