Make Christ the Center of Your Life Today

Christ belongs at the center of the five C’s: connection, community, Christ, communication, and consistency. Christ is not just another part of church life. Christ is the center of gravity that brings stability when life feels like a roller coaster, when everything is chaos, and when every turn feels like it might throw somebody over on their side.

The sun sits at the center of the solar system, and everything revolves around it. Christ must sit at the center of life in that same way. The question is not whether family, work, money, possessions, hobbies, or comfort are bad things. The question is what has been placed on the highest pedestal. Whatever somebody will not give up for Christ is what life is really revolving around.

Christ as the center means He is the ultimate authority, higher than a boss, a job, an opinion, or personal pride. Christ as the center means He is the primary focus in the middle of work, home, friendships, and everyday decisions. Christ as the center means His life, His words, His character, and His Bible become the pattern for life. Christ as the center also means regular worship and gathering with the body of Christ are treated as matters of eternity, not optional leftovers after everything else has been scheduled.

The question “Who is this man?” runs through the stories of Jesus. Jesus forgives the paralyzed man and proves His authority by telling him to rise and walk. Jesus receives the costly perfume and forgives the broken woman at His feet. Jesus speaks to wind and waves, and even experienced fishermen watch the storm obey Him. Jesus sends disciples with the good news because He Himself is the good news.

Christ is healer, forgiveness, power, gospel, Savior, anchor, friend, way, truth, and life. Christ is not merely a historical figure or a collection of church answers spoken in Christianese. The question “Who do you say I am?” reaches deeper than having the right words. The Father must reveal the Son, and the Holy Spirit must open the Bible as a revelation of Jesus.
